I was reading an old Teen People and ran across a little segment with Aaron Lewis. DID YOU KNOW: While performing "Outside" live with Fred Durst, Lewis made up the lyrics as he went along, and then copied them down later for the cd. That's incredible. But not as incredible as Eminem's 'Drug Ballad'. The entire song was written in 20 minutes.
I think Teen People is stupid -- making up a song while singing it is much harder than writing one in 20 minutes.

Yeah, but it said as he sang it... if Durst was there cracking jokes instead of singing it'd probably be much easier to write -- because he'd literally be 'on the outside looking in'
Er, nope. A lot more incredible, especially considering Outside has a meaning where as Drug Ballad is another Eminem song full of cussing and talking about drugs

if what you're saying is right, and he really did make it up as he went along, that's amazing. I just listened to the song and he doesn't hesitate or pause while thinking up lyrics, you could never tell he did that.
Wait...he made up lyrics as he went along? Was it setup like that?If not, did just the music for the song exist then? I'm confused...
Sometimes it's better not to think about every single part of something. It'll confuse you even more .

It may not be as emotionally insightful as Outside, but it has a meaning nevertheless. I find it more incredible because there are so many more lines in Drug Ballad than in Outside. Both are great feats for artists, but if you heard that song, you would be amazed such a verbose song was written in such short period.
