Hugo Strange? I like the idea of Bane or Killer Croc, though. On paper, they seem like they'd be out of place in one of Nolan's films, but I think Chris is clever enough to work them in and still keep the series somewhat grounded in reality.
Killer Croc? Bane? Nah. I'll vouch for Black Mask/Skull. Much more suitable in Nolan's universe. Talia Al Ghul wouldn't be far from being a logical choice either.
I think in terms of the intelligence of Batman's Rogues Gallery, Bane is really the only logical choice. Ras al Ghul is out, Joker is out, and so is Riddler. Bane is the only villain to know Bruce Wayne's true identity in canon, along with being one of the few to be chosen by Ras to be his heir due to his cunning. Then again, I just want the general public to realize the badassery that is the REAL Bane, and not the Batman & Robin knockoff. I mean Jesus, he outwitted Bruce and broke his fucking back.
If they re-use the Joker it'll be the biggest insult to Heath Ledger's performance / death. His character died with Heath Ledger, and that's how it should be. They can use someone else.
Ign.com had something up a few weeks back, Nolan Said No joker in the 3rd movie. Something along the lines of, its time to move on.
Even if you take Heath Ledger's death out of the equation, two films in a row with the Joker in anything more than a small role would probably be too much.
I'd rather have two movies in a row with the Joker in it compared with two movies in a row with Christian Bale as Batman in it.
I really don't care for the title that much. As for the main villain in this story? I'd say go for someone intresting like Bane or even Poison Ivy.
Too bad the Red Hood is Joker or Jason Todd, both extremely impossible to pull off in the Nolanverse at this point.
The title is stupid. They should go to the asylum as a fight scene! I think it will be be the penguin
I'm hoping for an entirely new villain, actually. Scrap finding a pre-existing one and create one that works for the movie and the "Nolanverse"
I hope he doesn't attempt to write a new villain. Batman's Rogues Gallery is too iconic to go with a new villain. He'd be guaranteed hate from a good percentage of DC fans. This thread alone proves that he has a lot to work with in terms of potential villains.
This^. Bats has one of the strongest rogues gallery going, there's no need to go making up new villains. There are many existing villains that Nolan & his team could do great things with, though I'm probably one of the few who hasn't got their heart set on any one in particular, I'm just waiting to see what they have in store for us.
