Sure, my PS2 was $550 CDN (Taxes inclu.) when I bought it back in July of 2001. Looks like I'll be saving up for this, I can't wait for the new system.
Wait 'till there's a shortage of PS3s out there on launch day. The console's gonna sell out the first day's shipment regardless of price...if there's people who'll spend a hundred thousand dollars buying and tuning a car, there's people that'll spend $500 buying a video game console. Just wait 'till they sell out though...people'll buy 'em for five hundred, then sell 'em on Ebay for five thousand. They did that with the PS2 on launch day too...basically pimping the machines.... :chemist:
Aye. I'm going to buy the new Microsoft console anyway, 3 IBM 64-bit CPUs will definitely compete with PS3's architecture.
Sony won't dare do this. I just know they won't, if they want to compete with Nintendo and Microsoft in the Next Generation of consoles, they won't.
I want a console, not a console, DVR, DVD Burner, ect. Id rather pay $200-250 for just a console to play games than $500 for all that other crap
You guys....this is just speculation. Every new system that comes out has an original outrageous price that the media loves to tag with it. Remember when the console wars were buzzing around the XBox and the PS2 and the Game Cube? Original sources said the XBox would end up costing 500+...same with PS2.... These reports are meant to inspire topics like these so people begin talking about the systems...Think about it, would Sony really introduce a product that's more outrageously priced than the other systems? No. Sony's PS2 was a very successful system because Sony knows how to market their products.
hmm...yeah elie I guess you're right. Outrageous prices to start controversy. I don't think I'll be buying any new systems soon (my newest is a N64.) I am content with old games and my computer's DVD burners at the moment.
i dont care about the price, its just the stuff they're putting in the console is all im worried about.
Pimp the system The article says it, they'll maybe sell a barebone too.[/quote] But then they'll have tons of launch games that somehow take advantage of the DVR, DVD Burner, etc (I'd expect sports games that could let you burn a game to DVD and watch it, rather than just saving one instant replay to the memory card)
