So, I'm sitting here, looking at the dates for the Warped Tour, and all of a sudden, I hear this loud BOOM BOOM! My dad, who was falling asleep, looks up and just goes "The shuttle." Indeed it was. For the second time in my life, I've heard a sonic boom. The space shuttle Endeavour just re-entered the Earth's atmosphere, and I'm shaking like a fucking leaf. At first, I thought someone set off a bomb. So, has anyone here ever experienced a sonic boom? Describe.
The only Sonic Boom I've ever experienced was from Guile of Street Fighter. Other than that, no. But I can't imagine how frightening that would be.
I've never seem/heard one in person, but I did some YouTube searching and found some pretty awesome shit. Take a look at this explosion and the sonic boom from it. Holy crap.
I live 30 miles from an army base that frequently likes to test aircraft....sonic booms are a frequent thing here. At least they only do it during the day, but it still scares the shit out of me every time.
Yeah I heard it too! Everyone in my neighborhood came out to see what it was. My bed shook. It scared the crap out of me lol, I thought it was a bomb too. But then I found out later it was the shuttle like you said.
The one time it happened, in '07, we were staying in this little vacation house thing made way back in the 50s. The windows shook so hard, and the dog started going nuts. I think a car alarm went off too, but that might have been coincidence. Although, if it was because of the boom, it's kinda funny, 'cause normally, you would think that only happens in the movies.
