So me and my friends have begun renting low-budget never-heard-of movies at local movie stores looking for something to make fun of while we watch. Sometimes they're even more entertaining than most bigger-budget movies because of the lack of detention to detail, and the overall low quality of the writing and acting. Case in point: Gangs of the Dead (a.k.a Last Rites) A meteor crashes into a group of homeless people, turning them into zombies. If that isn't awesome enough, they surround a warehouse that has members of two rival gangs (black and latino gangs) and two policemen trapped inside. The movie is filled with hilariously-adapted racial stereotypes and the most stilted dialogue of any movie I've seen. The rival gangmembers must come together to thwart the zombie invasion. But their in-fighting only leads to more problems created than solved. Dead and Deader Stars Dean Cain in the lead role, so you automatically know it's crap. During an army mission in Cambodia, zombies come out of nowhere and attack Dean Cain and his fellow soldiers. A grenade goes off an kills every member of the squad. The grenade also breaks a tank containing magical scorpions, who bite the squad members. His fellow soldiers turn into zombies upon arrival back in the US, but Dean Cain becomes a walking-dead man with no pulse, yet with superpowers like superstrength, heightened senses, and immortality. Oh yeah, and the scorpions are in his bloodstream, but he needs to make sure they don't get to his heart to turn him into a zombie. Cain joins up with a black chef and a hot waitress and they go into a military compound to kill all of the zombies. The most plotholes in a movie I've ever seen, but entertaining because of it. Oh yeah, and there's Snakes on a Plane. Anyways, share your "so bad it's good" movies. Perhaps me and my friends will pick them up.
The Tremors sequels. And, by today's standards, It Came From Outer Space. Very cheap and somewhat wooden, but great for suspense.
Saw, The Evil Dead, The Evil Dead 2, Jeepers Creepers, Dog Soldiers. Most of these films are either low buget, have storylines that don't make sense, have shabby acting in parts or a combination of all. But all are quite good films.
There's this film with Dana Carvey which is universally hated by critics but if you watch it with no expectations it's kind of funny. I forget the name though.
Abraxas: Guardian of the Universe. (Starring Governor Jesse Ventura. What could possibly be bad about it?)
