Smashing Pumpkins To Record New Song For Hyundai Commercial

Title says it all. Smashing Pumpkins are recording a new song to be debuted in a Hyundai commercial before the super bowl. I'm apprehensive about this, but i'm always interested to see what Bill and co. have come up with, so i'll definately give it a listen when it's released.

Corgan is turning into Gene Simmons.

 

The last person I'd have expected to sell out was Billy Corgan.

True, true. But I meant on a scale like this. I could see scoring a movie, but this is ridiculous.

I was never upset by Billy still writing under the Smashing Pumpkins name because it was pretty much all him before anyway. Wasnt Siamese Dream played and recorded almost entirely by him?

 

For Gods sake the Pumpkins have always been Billy.
The others just played what he told them to play.

It might be a good song, give him a chance.

 

Like Zwan has always been Billy.
I don't know the Smashing Pumpkins wasn't just Billy when Jimmy got kicked out of the band in the earlier years for ODing with the keyboard on cocaine and the keyboarder died.

 

Why not? He wrote everything then, same as now.

 

I'll give the songs a fair shot. I could honestly care less if they were made for a commercial or not, but I do find the concept to be kinda funny.

I liked some of the last record!

 

I listened to about half of Zeitgeist on imeem, and I really don't get why people hate it. That's The Way (My Love Is) is just as good as anything else the band has done, and the other songs are good, but stifled by awful production. Still, its not the awful record everyone makes it out to be.

 

Tarantula, That's The Way, Doomsday Clock and others. Those three in particular are up there with Bullet With Butterfly Wings and most of their other songs as far as I'm concerned.

Though they'll never touch Tonight, Tonight ever again.

 

I wouldn't even mention Zietshit. Pfft.
