I never actually liked slipknot but duality has grown on me. Can someone tell me the names of some of the acoustic/slower tracks on the album.

I have screamed until my veins collapsed
I’ve waited as my times elapsed
Now all I do is live with so much fate
    I wished for this
    I b*tched at that
I’ve left behind this little fact
You cannot kill what you did not create

My friend Jared is a huge Slipknot fan, he sits next to me in class and he always tells me how excited he is about their new album. I've heard 'Pulse of the Maggots', it's an okay song, but I bet the rest of the album will be better. I'm looking forward to it.

I listened to the whole album a while ago (after listening to the first 4 or 5 songs, though) and I have to change my opinion... it's not good at all. Same old crap.

I suggest for everyone to stop fearing the harder tracks and actually give them a listen. I used to think Slipknot would be too hard for me and then I gave them a chance and still have yet to regret it.

Harder Songs I have and also recommend:

    "(sic)"
    "Left Behind"
    "I Am Hated"
    "Eyeless"
    "Wait And Bleed"
    "Duality"

If you only listen to Slipknot's "softer stuff" and dont give the hard part of them a chance you can't really say your a fan because a good 95% of their stuff from what I've heard is pretty heavy.

Subliminal Verses actually surprised me. I was expecting the entire album to be the ol' Slipknot with a F-this here and an F-this there with pulsating screaming, but it was surprising to hear acoustic/softer tracks on this album. I really thought Slipknot would never change, but just to see them have a small change in music proves that Slipknot aren't at all a crappy band, well, in my opinion. Even though I would love to hear another "(sic)" or "Spit It Out," I think that the album shows a maturity in the band to a point where it's not all about saying "f*ck the world, and I am useless," because now we see Slipknot are putting a new emotion in their music along side the angry, and energetic Slipknot we already know.

I think it's expected of every band, you know, you can be the heaviest band in the world, but if you can make a really calm, softer, and especially acoustic, then I think it really says something about the band. Again, I was expecting Corey's voice to be much harder, but I forgot to put his age into consideration. Slipknot aren't getting any younger, and even though it's hard to admit, Slipknot might be taking a new path with their music and they might change, they might not, who knows, but whatever the outcome is, I think Slipknot proved a lot of people wrong (well, people I know of) and with the new style they've chosen, it's like saying, they're heavy, but they can change if they want to.

I know I probably repeated myself a few times but you get the idea :p.

I love Subliminal Verses like I like their other albums just the same. It's just, this time around, there's a new reason why I like it so much.

I listened to it all. It's just not for me. I love harder stuff, but I see no point in it if there's no actual music involved, which is what I believe is Slipknot's problem. There's really no music in it. That's just my opinion, though. I've tried giving them a listen so many times it's not even funny.
