Might be your computer is just using up too much memory. (Assuming you're on Windows) Hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete and check how much memory you're using.
How much RAM do you have. And what's your processor? If you need to check, right click on my computer and goto properties

happens with me too. Every damn song. My CPU usage doesn't spike, my specs are fine (my PC is pretty new.) I've gone through the troubleshooting webpage for similar problems...nothing fixed it. If I can't fix the problem, I ain't using iTunes anymore and I won't be asking for that iPod for Christmas.
i dont know bro thats why i ask you...i wish i know to help you out...i think im going back to musicmatch but itunes is so good(but skips )

I'm going back to the program that came with my Creative Zen Touch...It's a decent player (plays protected wma's, etc.) but I like the interface of iTunes. All Apple products so far have given me this trouble that I'd probably avoid in the future.

Do you know what sound card you have? Might be a driver issue. One time my SBLive drivers messed up and confused the shit out of me.
Sound Blaster Live! Note: All the songs sound fine on other programs. I played around with the configuration in the quick time settings in the control panel but that didn't do anything.
man i just spent like $100 dollars upgrading my computer and itunes still skips so im going to get my money back
what how tell me please thats good im happy for you tomi i upgrade something i think more space on my computer or something
I really genuinly have no clue what I did to fix it. Try deleting all the music from the library, select keep files at the deleting screen, and importing everything again. I don't know if this will work.
