Silverstein's fourth album, A Shipwreck In The Sand comes out on March 31st. Cover art: Head over here to read a little story thingy - i don't know I can't wait
To be honest I haven't actually listened to Silverstein in a loooong time. They're great for when you're not really looking for anything groundbreaking, though. Might check this out.
I haven't listened to alot of Silverstein, although a friend at work gave me a couple tracks, smile in your sleep, and your sword vs my dagger, both badass songs.
I didn't know they were recording. Hmm, they have some good stuff but in my opinion they are a very very over praised band. I'll certainly check it out and I am sure there will be a track or 2 really worthwhile but I have a feeling most of it will just be ok.
I don't think they're over-praised at all. In fact, a lot of people hate them, for whatever reasons they've got. I'm looking forward to their new album. Silverstein aren't the best, but they're good at what they do.
I've actually got to agree with Will, I've never seen Silverstein overly praised anywhere. If anything, they're either hated on, or just regarded as mediocre.
They play a much better live show than I expected. Saw them open for Chiodos and they played loud and well. Their style can feel hackneyed and even downright annoying at times... but they have some AMAZING songs. Namely, "If You Could See Into My Soul", "Smile In Your Sleep" and "Smashed Into Pieces".
They're pretty decent. I've just never been really really into that whole scream/sing style of music, aside from a handful of bands such as Alexisonfire and Funeral For A Friend, and more recently Thursday and Underoath. Besides those I probably like Silverstein more than most. As McLovin says they can be a pretty hackneyed sounding band but at the very least they have what they do down to a tee a lot of the time.
combine their best songs to one album and you got one hell of an emocore compilation. im looking forward to this concept album. saw them live twice and every show was great for having fun and screaming along. they are always worth some attention to my mind
A clip from their new single, Vices can be found on their myspace - here. I like it, it got me excited
