Should Linkin Park venture away from the mainstream music and release longer and harder-listening songs? Or should Linkin Park continue to release solid, single-esque tracks?
Look, I love LT but the whole thing does have a very mainstream sound. I would like to see them take something completely new and unique next record.
Can I just say I want to combine the elegance of A Thousand Suns with the up tempo sound and heavier instrumental side of Living Things? Give me Lost In The Echo with The Catalyst's structure and epic progression. THAT is what they strive for.
I think they have a "mainstream"-ish sound for the albums in their time period. The first 2 were mainstream as Nu-Metal was at its height. MTM and LT sound a little mainstream, while ATS sounds extremely different. Not that this is a bad thing, I just want them to make good songs, no matter if it sounds mainstream or not
That. We can have the best of both worlds. Experimental doesn't have to mean slow, or freakishly bizarre songs.
I'm okay with mainstream music if it sounds good and isn't boring. I really only care if its good. That's all.
