Shattering Dreams is My Day Job

It's a dream that will never be real,
It's a jewel that's too poor to steal,
It's an ocean made of broken glass,
It's sandpaper that rips the skin from your hand,

And this hypocrisy is my dream,
From high above that world is burning down,
    With eyes wide open,
Another hope for me to drown,

It's a storm that brings blood like rain,
It's an orchid that blooms when you're in pain,
It's the dust of friends that blinds your eyes,
It's the heartless kiss that severs the ties,

And this hypocrisy is my dream,
From high above that world is burning down,
    With eyes wide open,
Another hope for me to drown,

Cut into somewhere so far away,
Lost and alone here I will stay.

haven't written in a while, thoughts please...
