A Place for my Head is one of the band's best songs. I've always loved the rap verse in the beginning, and I still think that the verse has some of the band's best lyrics.
Fucking love APFMH. One of the songs from HT I can honestly say I still love. The reanimation version is really awesome as well. Some of the best rap verses Mike has ever written + cool guitar riff + amazing screaming from Chester = Nu-metal mayhem.
I don't feel like Collision Course is necessary, since we'll already have done Hybrid Theory and Meteora by then. But I agree with No Roads Left and New Divide. It'll be just a little break between Minutes to Midnight and A Thousand Suns. And we have to decide how to do the ATS interludes. EDIT: Maybe we could do Collision Course as one track? Just if someone has a cool story to tell about the album, name favorite and least favorite tracks... I don't feel like we have to do it song by song.
good call. "Collision Course" will be a single entity. "A Thousand Suns" interludes will be paired up, like so ... "The Requiem+The Radiance", "Burning in the Skies", "Empty Spaces+When They Come For Me", "Robot Boy+Jornada del Muerto", "Waiting For The End", "Blackout", "Wretches and Kings", "Wisdom, Justice, and Love+Iridescent", "Fallout+The Catalyst", "The Messenger".
I always felt like Jornada is more of an introl to WFTE rather than an outro to Robot Boy. But let's get back to the thread.
The two new songs released on the special edition of Hybrid Theory in 2002. High Voltage and My December.
have a look at the op. i've added all tracks. need to fix some links + title but it's generally where i am headed.
I've always just listened to the version that's on the Hybrid Theory EP, it's the preferred version to me.
APFMH is definitely one of my favorite tracks off HT, it's just awesome, the speed and delivery of the rapping (and the verses are pretty relatable), and the softer-yet-punchy chorus, the break is just fucking awesome and it was one of the best songs live, the Live in Texas performance is bloody fantastic to me. I personally love all versions of this song, the two demos and the final, but out of the demos my favorite one is the one from the Frat Party easter egg video, that was released later on LPU11, that basement/garage video is gold, love it. As for the Reanimated one, I'm not a huge fan but still the synths and glitches of the bridge are great to blast on the speakers. This song is a 10/10 for me, even after all these years. --- About High Voltage, my HT 2CD has the version with the sung bridge, so that's the one I'll be talking about /offtopic
A Place For My Head is such a great song. This is some of Mike's best rapping. I hope I get to see this song on Carnivores, yet I doubt I'm going to be too picky because this will be my first time seeing them.
I think APFMH has some of Mikes best rapping ever.. very good energy song overall very good.. it is one of those songs I don't listen to a ton, but when I do I enjoy it.
Forgotten, I remember the first time I heard this it scared the heck out of me the way it starts so loud lol. Not one I listen to a lot, but definitely a fun track. The breakdown before the bridge has some of my favorite sounds. One thing that keeps this from being better imo is the lyrics. They sound cool, but honestly I don't know what they mean lol. I get the general metaphor about once the paper's crumpled up it can't be perfect again, basically they've got scars and bad memories and feel forgotten etc. But they don't come off as super relatable or emotional to me.
