personally I dont like them but im glad that they are finally doing well, seeen that they are from South Africa ( my home country) , where it is really hard to make it big, I saw them about 2 weeks ago supporting evenesence over here in London.
I used to like them... I heard their advance CD and loved it... but I slowly started to just be indifferent towards 'em.
Well, I had to look up the word "protoge", and I was about to go against it, but you are right, Amy Lee did considerably boost them up in the music world, but they did go Gold (100,000 records) before that. But I think Evanesence and Seether are not musically the same, Seether is a good bit harder. And a good bit better, I might add. Oh, just to refresh everyone's memory, Seether will be re-releasing their debut album, Disclaimer, on June 15. The original album has been remixed by Bob Marlette, and they've added 8 tracks not featured on the previous release: "Out of My Way" (Freddy vs. Jason Soundtrack), "Hold On" (Daredevil Soundtrack), "Broken ft. Amy Lee" and "Sold Me" (The Punisher Soundtrack). Also, four songs from their Saron Gas (before they got signed by Wind-Up) days will be featured on the album: "Love Her", "Take Me Away (Unplugged)", "Cigarettes", and "Got It Made". Also, this re-release will feature a DVD sporting a live performance, all their music videos ("Broken", "Gasoline", "Driven Under", "Fine Again"), and, to quote Shaun Morgan, the lead singer, "behind the scenes stuff". So that's about it. Oh, and new album end of January 2005 (which will make 2 1/2 years without new material released).
Uh, nope. They were a band long before Amy Lee. Amy Lee didn't discover them or help them or anything. They were probably more popular before her, I'd bet. The only thing is she's going out with Seether's lead singer. They're not Amy Lee's protoge's at all.
I love Seether, I mean there not in my top 5 favorite bands, but they are very awesome and the song they just recently did with Amy Lee on the Punisher Soundtrack... genius, I loved it... (it was way better then the original song on there CD)

The only songs I head from them is Fine Again and Broken, and they are both good songs. Maybe if I listen to some more songs and like them, I will maybe buy the album.
Did i say Amy Lee discovered them? Look up what protegée means
I had too. There's no shame in it.
Did i say Amy Lee discovered them? Look up what protegée means
I never said she discovered them, either. I think you need to look the word up. "One whose welfare, training, or career is promoted by an influential person." Amy Lee did none of those. Seether is not Amy Lee's "protegée" and they never were. She did not train them, she did not promote them, nothing like how KoRn's protegées were Limp Bizkit, or Limp Bizkit's protegée's were Staind.
You should think before you say crap you haven't a clue about, Phantom. Seether are great. I can't wait for Disclaimer II. My fave songs would be "Broken", "Hang On", "Sol Me", "Gasoline", and "Needles".
Seether isn't Amy Lee's protegée's. The only reason she appeared in Broken was because she's dating Shaun Morgan, the lead singer.
I'm a fan of Seether, my friend has there album and i'm gonna buy disclaimer 2 when that arrives. They sound brilliant.
I guess Seether's okay. They put on a good live show when they opened up for Evanescence when I saw them in December. They actually did "Broken" with Amy Lee back then but she was just doing backing vocals instead of singing the second verse herself..but I don't quite remember.
If any of you have ever watched One Hit Wonders on MuchMusic, Seether happened to be featured on the show with Broken. A low blow, yes, but it was still quite funny to see. I laugh everytime I hear that song now.
