Stone Temple Pilots w/ Chester Bennington recently sat down with Kerrang! Magazine and gave some interesting information about their relationship with former vocalist Scott Weiland and the future of the band. Thanks 1riversong on Twitter, we now have scans of the article in which you can read below. Probably the dancey part . I don't trust the claim of hard and heavy music anymore lol. Not after the infamous QWERTY bait and switch.
Seems like the 2nd EP talk wasn't much of a joke was it? that's cool news. Well that was fun to read! I like how Chester always outlines his commitment to LP and I can totally imagine a brotherly/fatherly talk from Mike. I'm really glad things are transparent within the band and how they care for each other, and the communication among them is excellent, that's really important. And about Linkin Park sound hints, let's not get carried away, people might think that just because Chester's been screaming and such recently, LP will drop the electronic elements any time soon in favor of the guitars.. For now we don't know and my perception is that CB screaming could very well be over a heavy electronic track (ie Blackout, would be awesome). Thanks for sharing the article, Derek!
LP going Death Metal. That would be hilarious. However I appreciate that Chester suggested a darker direction.
Wasn't Bleed It Out described as a death metal party song? Man. So death metal. Chester's super v-neck in that video was hardcore as fuck.
I could be wrong, but I think someone that went to one of the first listening parties of LIVING THINGS had mentioned it being "brutal" and "the heaviest material ever to come out with nonstop screaming and shredding guitars".
I vividly remember someone on twitter (Ted stryker or someone along those lines) describing VICTIMIZED as a "Ministry" heavy song. So yeah, LP sound and songs descriptions are misleading more often than not
Great article! I bought "High Rise" today, and I couldn't be happier for the guys. Hopefully they do stick around for 10 years (according to Robert DeLeo's life lol).
I believe that Bleed It Out was described as AC/DC guitar with old school rapping with The Clash type chorus...
I hope their new 'electro dance' album has atleast some meaning to it like ATS..... LT did nothing to me, more deep messages about the world please, even though that probably wont happen again. Does anyone know if the next album will be with Warner? When would they leave Warner?
Actually, I think that it was Mike who said it before the album was out, but he didn't say the title of the song...after the album came out, I figured out that he was referring to Bleed It Out
Just out of curiosity I checked the BE forums and I would really like to know what are the reasonable arguments to say "Chester is a disgrace". It's not like CB has gotten into trouble with other people/artists during his whole career, he's probably one of the nicest guys around in the business. Those people are a joke.
