About a month ago I got a free CD with a magazine I bought and it came with these songs: 01. Deicide - Scars of the Crucifix 02. Akercocke - Son of the Morning 03. Decapitated - The Fury 04. Morbid Angel - Stricken Arise 05. The Haunted - D.O.A 06. Anata - A Problem Yet To Be Solved 07. Cult of Luna - To Be Remembered 08. Society 1 - Hate 09. Deathwitch - Coffin Fornicator 10. Lunaris - Existence Unveiled 11. Wolverine - New Best Friends 12. Linea 77 - Third Moon 13. Ephel Duath - The Unpoetic Circle 14. Mortiis - Spirit In A Vacuum 15. Carcass - Death Certificate 16. Napalm Death - The Kill 17. The Berzerker - Reality 18. Hate Eternal - King Of All Kings 19. Iron Monkey - Fink Dial I've listened to most of these songs. They're all pretty good (instrumentally). Just curious to know (and if other people share my curiosity, this needs to be asked): why are so many black/death metal bands so eager to portray themselves as 'evil' or 'Satanic'? What's with the pentacles and the whole "I'm so evil" look? I think an image like that sort of puts people off their music. If every one of these bands sings about how much Christianity sucks and starts drawing inverted crucifixes on their foreheads, it kind of looks like they're all jumping on the Satanic metal bandwagon. So what do you guys think about Satanic bands? Or just black metal in general? I'm Christian myself so it seems a bit weird, me listening to Deicide
I totally HATE it Only song i can listen to is Slipknot - Herotic Anthem, and thats it. I cant relate to any song so thats why i dont like it
Too bad Slipknot is death or black metal.
Yes.. true, but Slipknot - Herotic Anthem is the only one i can listen to for a full hour, maybe even more I HATE black/deaf metal, just not that song. Thats it

I guess they're just really, really non-religious and angry people. I'm not much into death metal, but black metal's pretty good. Some bands take their views too far, though. I remember reading about some Polish black metal band that had a music video with a dozen bloody lamb heads on pitchforks and a naked girl in a bathtub filled with blood.. :wth: The Gothenburg metal scene owns, though. B)
Opeth is about as far into Black/Death metal as I can go...they are smart musicians that use Death/Black metal elements to enhance the musical experience. These bands/fans take this whole 'cult' thing so seriously...its really dumb I think. I'm just not that sort of person. I listen to music for music's sake mostly. So all the 'Satanic' stuff really turns me off. Slipknot is NOT death/black metal :chemist:
Too bad Slipknot is death or black metal.
They're not black/death metal.. seeing that everything i post is just nothing, you can delete everything i said
They're not black/death metal.. seeing that everything i post is just nothing, you can delete everything i said
It was a typo. I meant isn't.
You can't read. Slipknot isn't black metal or death metal so your posts have absolutely no point in this topic.
I thought you said they were. (Quote: "Too bad Slipknot is death or black metal.") Was that sarcasm or just a typo? Slipknot are nu-metal. Edit: Oooh a typo. I get it.
It so is the best! I was brought up on Heavy Metal and Black/Death Metal So you know..it's kinda grown on me... It's pretty cool!
I thought you said they were. (Quote: "Too bad Slipknot is death or black metal.") Was that sarcasm or just a typo? Slipknot are nu-metal. Edit: Oooh a typo. I get it.
THANK YOU!! I've told so many people that Slipknot, Stone Sour they are Nu-Metal, but they never believe me, stupid ####s. Anyways, On your list..I've heard 0 of those bands. The closest to "deaf"(or so Chris says, lol)metal or black metal would have to be Opeth, and thanks to Odaton I'm into them. But besides that..
Thanks to Odaton constantly banging on about Dream Theater, Symphony X and Opeth, I now have their albums. Like I said, I've only heard of Deicide but I don't listen to them regularly.
Okay, Stone Sour might be nu metal, but Slipknot? Please. They were around before nu metal started up. EDIT: What about the christian groups (the ones that actually preach it & whatnot)? That turns me off to their music, but I'll probably get told to #### off or something on that because it's christian music, so it's a-okay. Oh, and here's a WILD thought...ever stop to think that these so called 'Satanic Metal' bands are actually..*gasp*..satanic?! Alot of the black metal bands that come out of Germany & Europe and whatnot, that talk about satan and look like devil worshippers most likely are. Considering that Emperor (Probably the wrong band name, but I know it's one european black metal band) went around burning down churches and whatnot because the christians there ridicule the satanists for their beliefs, but when they do it to the christians, it's soooo wrong. Yeah.
That's because if you're a Satanist, people automatically assume you're an evil rapist/murderer who needs to burn in the fiery depths of hell, hence any form of ridicule or persecution is justifiable. Interesting thought because some guys from The Satanic Alliance (online Satanic community) told me Satanism has nothing to do with being evil or sacrificing virgins or, for that matter, worshipping the Devil. Who knows.
