The way the fan base here looks at Meteora, I look at THP the same way. Out of place and the least successful. If you don't think WB hasn't added a touch to this new one, I'd say you're wrong. As I forsee it, this album will relate to both new and old fans. It's Linkin Park, I have complete faith. Why so many negative comments? You haven't heard it yet folks....
Sure she made not the greatest singer in the world but at least it ain't Taylor Swift. Oh dear god if that happened.
I'm beggining to think i won't more collaborations at this time, cause i prefer a pure linkin park record without any other artist. On other words, the feat. with Rakim on GATS was fine, but personally i prefer Mike.
"pure linkin park" I think that's the new term that will divide the fans "Yeah I liked it when it was just them ... pure linkin park" come on
Maybe the label wanted some push for Kiiara... otherwise, I'm not sure why would LP want to work with her, unlike Blackbear or the other songwriters.
Nah. I first heard about her through ... Mike's spotify playlist, back then. The guy's into that kind of stuff. He's also LP main composer. That's about it I'd say.
Mike's rap verses, Chester chorus, powerchord bridge and final chorus (Screams and bridge line verses to taste)
Kiiara's brand is pretty far from LP's and this might still work - and, if anything, that the collaboration happened at all (and it's not LP's first, obviously) is enough to say the near-impossible could happen, however crazy it sounds ... but you won't be able to call it ahead of time.
Its not difficult to understand. I prefer, like other persons on the forum, a song without any other artist singing or playing some parts of the song, only linkin park. This is for me, the purity of their music, when they don't need the sound of other artist. But, on other way, i know that musicians need learn from the others. For me, Linkin Park are completly capacity for do the best music whithout any else. Points of view, you know...
Well, before all this thing happened I was waiting for a progressive rock concept album. Yeah I knew that it was not possible with all the updates that we had and all the sounds we've heard. But now I can confirm that it's not possible, instead we're probably going to have the same 12 tracks album without a theme or a meaning. Just a bunch of songs. I was expecting something like ATS you know, and before someone tells me that I can't say anything because the tracklist isn't confirmed, yeah I know is not confirmed but for me it's likely, maybe LIVING THINGS pt. 2?
Yeah, but they can also do stock-standard nu-metal; that's not what they want. I like to see the band change it up, challenge themselves (and the fans) and do things they've never done before. Pairing up w/ an artist like Kiiara, inviting a variety of co-writers into the process, it's different and it's daring. That's how they experimented this time around. Everything they do, bar nothing, spurs controversy among the fans. EDIT: to add, this is (hopefully) LP taking a big step out of their comfort zone, which I felt they seriously needed to do, in any way they could. The lyrics on this album could genuinely be great (to me) and that alone would make it special. If not that, then, there might be production that's more along the lines of what I like but which will make someone else uncomfortable. Before THP came out, I was uncertain about whether or not I could enjoy the album while all the ~rock~ fans here were very excited. I experienced for the first time what other fans may have felt when "Midnight" or ATS dropped, realising that I might be one of those fans that the band alienates with a sound and an attitude I can't get with. Nobody is safe.
I don't know why but my expectations for this album are really low. It's not about Kiiara, but from the beggining I feel that this album is going to be something cool for a few listens but forgettable right after.
