New Linkin Park album news is rapidly coming — photos, hints, and social media posts have been increasing as of recent. Our biggest hint so far is a new casting call discovered by LP Live below. The supposed casting call lists a new music video for an upcoming Linkin Park featuring Kiiara song to be shot next Monday and Tuesday. Kiiara is best known for her break out song "Gold" released last year. In addition, on December 9th, Kiiara tweeted about working with Linkin Park in a "session", most likely inferring to a studio session. Rumors of upcoming features in Linkin Park's 7th album have been flowing for a while now. To add to the rumors are Kiiara's mysterious messages on Twitter and her past interviews. Kiiara has listed Linkin Park as a major influence during her interview with Fuse, and continues to tweet Linkin Park lyrics as recent as yesterday. Source: LP Live | Fuse | Kiiara Twitter
Don't know who she is? i wished when LP do a collab with a female singer it's gonna be Megan James of Purity Ring. but we will see.
Never heard of her, but I've always liked female vocals, so I'm more than okay with this. EDIT: I thought they'd finished shooting for the first video actually, so is this a second single or was I wrong?
Intro to Kiiara: "Gold" (more experimental, but the sampling in it is a little weird and might not appeal to everyone) "Feels" (much better example of her voice, and far more 'accessible')
I hate this sample. but tbh it's not garbage pop. her singing style is weird edit: i really like the second song
Well, I'm afraid that's not possible. Considering this feature it'll be difficult for the record to be a rock one.
They tried high energy rock songs on the last album and we got War. I'm happy for them to try entirely new things on this album.
Looking forward to it. As Joe said, I'm extremely happy for them to try new things and create new sounds on this album. A Thousand Suns is still my favourite by LP, so anything that departures from their previous work is great in my eyes.
I don't necessarily disagree, but they tried that with their last two albums and it got them nowhere (IMO). I simply don't think they have it in them to make a great, forward thinking, guitar focused rock album, so I'd personally prefer them to focus more on electronics and sound design. I do agree that they band could do with another dose of "proving themselves" haha, and too many features might make that difficult, but who knows, every feature on THP was a highlight IMO (arguably not Page, but he was also the only feature with little to no creative freedom), so I'm happy either way.
LP doesn't need to prove themselves to anybody? They are a well-established rock group that tours internationally and does pretty well for themselves. They proved themselves well over a decade ago. Anyway...I find the idea of casting "body doubles" to be interesting. Does anyone know if that's something they've done in any other music video?
