I don't know, I don't think Rob Zombie's "selling out," really. I think any director growing up who has been interested in the horror genre looked at the Halloween series at one point or another and dreamed about directing one of them... Or maybe that's just me. I mean, despite the horrible ways the Halloween franchise has tried to revive itself, Zombie could bring a new outlook to the series. Zombie's films seem to be quite insane in their own way (even though if that Takashi Miike rumor was true, I'd gone with that), I think he deserves a shot. Although I wouldn't say he's the most brilliant horror film director to come along in the years, he's definitely got a unique vision when it comes to his movies that seem to deal with a sense of "raw" factor (or at least that's what I've seen in the unrated versions)... And I think that could give new life to a franchise like the Halloween series. I'm not exactly defending they try to bring back the Halloween series and continuously killing our classics, but I'm not exactly against Zombie doing it as well... Although I bet if Miike were to direct it, people would be freaking out right now. Nobody would dare say he'd be "selling out," would they?
Yeah I saw this a few days ago. The Halloween series is one of my favorite set of Horror films so if he does direct it he better not fuck it up.
