I have a live DVD of a band, and I'd like to rip the songs off of it and be able to put them on iPod, CD, whatever. How would I go about doing this? It'd be preferred to have them seperated by song. I also have Adobe Premiere.
This would take a whilem and I'm sure there is probably an easier way, but you could rip the DVD to your harddrive, then open it ti virtualdub (a free program). I'm not sure if virtuadub will support the .vob files (DVD standard format), so you may have to convert them to AVI's first. When you open VirtualDUB look for streams>stream list. Then save the .wav of the audio files. You will then just have to split and save the audio files. You may want to convert the final .wav's to .mp3s to save space. Clone DVD will rip the DVDs, but you have to pay for it (or get it cracked). Wavepad trial should split the files for you. As I said though, there is probably a better way.
Buy a cable: one end is left and right RCA jacks and the other end is 1/8 inch jack. Hook the left and right RCA jacks into the respective audio outputs of the DVD player. Hook the 1/8 inch jack into line in of your sound card. Record what you want and split it how you want. I dunno if this will work though... Stupid copy protection...
I had a program once that I used to rip the audio off of the Live in Texas DVD, but I forgot what it was called.
