"Hey, it's Michael Kenji Shinoda (/ʃɪˈnoʊdə/, born February 11, 1977) here, and definitely not Mac Oddy, I don't even know him, and I'm not a hostage,
Yeah, my pick is Mac Oddy. Love that guy. What a baller.
Yeh, found the email folks, so I think that clears everything up. NEXT.
I'm sorry it's not devious or some plot to prove some bullshit. I spent literally over 16 hours of my life listening to remixes, some of which were great, others of which I wasn't fond of. I value Mike's thoughts and opinions. I'm a big fan of his. If that's not enough reasoning to want to see what he had to say, I don't know what else to tell you. Not everyone is trying to hide something.
Beat you like three pages, try the ketchup motherfucker

Mike Shinoda from Spraypaint and Ink Pens: "envelope all the money I had. Left the money with Derek and a slow exhale. Two weeks went by, he got my email."
....call 911. I've fucking died at this comment.
IN HIS INBOX WAS A #TOOLBOX MADE OF GOLD
Yeah, yeah, let me begin by sayin', shut the fuck up
Let my begin by saying I don't think Mike knew what he had in store
He opened the email and found the bag under the floor.
"After that, I made it a rule: I only do email responses to make those remixers lose"- Get Me Gone
I know the conversation has moved passed this point, but I do feel the explaination behind this was the hard work and passion that we put into judging this contest. Not only were we defending our pick, but also the other 4 entries that made it to the top 5. After doing a bunch of hard work and then having people accuse you of cheating the system because things didn’t go the way they planned, really just equates to sour grapes. I’m gonna reiterate the fact that expectations and contests never quite make good bed fellows. We all did the best we could from a judging standpoint. I’m not posting this to revert back to how this conversation was, but I figured I’d throw in why a bunch of people, myself included, felt like they needed to stand up since they felt like their reputation was under fire.
Yeah - what do you want to happen if you make accusations about that many individuals? It's not like they'll all take it lying down, and you wouldn't be happy either to be persistently accused of things like that.
You frame the original instigating post as just "one person saying something" but it was kind of a serious thing that warranted the reaction it received.
"Hey guys, I know I made a bunch of public, baseless insinuations about how this contest was run in a sketchy fashion, but maybe you should respond calmly when people flat out try to sully your reputation like that. And in light of the evidence you've provided to the contrary, if you'd like to discuss further, maybe we should do that privately."
This is one of the most disingenuous non-apologies I've ever seen on these boards.
