Release date later in US?

    Just a curious question... how come THP is coming out later in the USA? Any specific reason, or just the way it is?

    I just find it ironic because Linkin Park is an American band. Perhaps the record companies wanted to test sales in other countries first to see if they can make more profits there? They're guilty all the same. (pun intended)

    Yeah. It happens a lot of movies too, even though most of them are American.

    USA is a Monday release country, as far as I know. For example, Australia, most of Europe and Japan are Friday release countries, so they always get the album about 3 days early.

    Why LP is releasing THP on a Tuesday, I really don't know.

    In the US, Billboard posts their list of best-selling albums for the week on Wednesdays. So to take full advantage of that record labels prefer to release albums on Tuesdays so that they get the full 7 days counted towards their total-albums-sold number for that particular week.

    The US is a Tuesday release country. That's when we get all of our new movies, music, and video games.
