This is the first thread I've ever started here, so... Yay! Some of you may remember this thread, in which we discussed Red's upcoming album, Release the Panic. Well, today, Red gave us an update on what they're up to. After a several day-long countdown, it was revealed that there will be an update to Release the Panic, called "Release the Panic: Recalibrated", launching this spring. Any thoughts?
I'm guessing it's a revamped version of the album, this time with the classic Red sound we all know and love.
This is actually really interesting... Because of the sample of strings from 'Let It Die' given on their website (if it doesn't play automatically, go to redmusiconline.com/storage/sound.mp3 ) and the fact that it's solely Release The Panic, I don't think it's a remix album. Which I'm actually glad of, to be honest; if they were to make a remix album along the likes of Falling Up, that would be awesome, but judging by their existing remixes... Plus Rob Graves has put a few pics of RED on Instagram, possibly meaning that they are working with him again, which sounds good to me! So are they really just re-recording the album? Hopefully we'll get more info soon! Edit: Oh... ' Just saw that Randy tweeted "In case you were wondering. @Howard_Benson1 will be working on Release The Panic "RECALIBRATED" with us. #releasethepanic" Hmm... shucks. Well maybe Graves will be helping as well...
glad to see a 3rd RED-related thread up and running on here I'm wary that they're working with Howard Benson again...I feel like he's just gonna make it even worse -_- I want to see Rob and Jasen back!
Not necessarily related, but anyone hear Nine Lashes new album yet? it's streaming here http://radiou.com/exclusives/exclusive-nine-lashes-album-stream/ It's pretty good, and there's more electronics, it reminds me of LP, actually... I thought I read somewhere that Rauch was working with RED again, but I can't find where, plus it pro'lly wasn't a reliable source.
wow, you can definitely hear Rauch's influence on that...the riff of "Light It Up" sounds super similar to Overtake You, and its bridge sounds like something off RTP. and the "In the Dark" riffs/production sound like they're right off of BB's last album (which Rauch also helped produce, haha no coincidence I guess)
I am very intrigued about this new project. When I first read the thread title, I immediately thought, "Release the Panic Remixed"? It seems to me that this could be more than just a remix effort but if it turns out to be that then I hope it's the band remixing every song on the album instead of other people.
I'm now very excited for this release. I think it might me more accurate to call it an EP more than an album but it is definitely a unique release. I am especially excited to hear "Run and Escape", as this song was recorded during the "Release The Panic" sessions but was never released to the public. This release reminds me of Reanimation, as RED is apparently deconstructing select songs and rebuilding them from the ground up just as LP did with the songs from "Hybrid Theory".
