You may remember me from the Release the Panic: Recalibrated rumor thread for the band RED. They announced today that they will be releasing a new album in February 2015 called "of Beauty and Rage." This time around they are working with their original producer, Rob Graves, and recording with real live strings(!) This is a thread for any updates or new information as we await the release! facebook.com/redmusiconline instagram.com/redmusiconline Edit: You can preorder the new album along with a bunch of other goodies at pledgemusic.com/projects/red
OH MAN, I CAN HARDLY WAIT FOR THIS. FIRST JURRASIC WORLD, THEN STAR WARS, AND NOW THIS? FUCK YEAH! THANKS GOD.
I didn't think that would be a problem, since I posted this in the Other Music section. I picked LPA Forums for this post because (1) There are no RED forums that I'm aware of and (2) I've seen a great community here of fellow RED fans and we've had some great discussions about their past album releases (Case in point: the Innocence and Instinct ARG thread back in '08.)
Despite what you might want to believe, a thread on a forum isn't just for talking about positive opinions.
It gets really tiring seeing people come in the thread just to point out seth.meyers only makes Red related posts. Who cares? This is Other Music and they can post about anything they want to. So what if they just come here to discuss Red? There's nothing stopping any member using this forum to talk about what they want and I don't get why it's a big deal. If you don't have anything to add or discuss then why take the time to come in and post about it? Just leave people who actually want to talk about the next album to it.
I liked some of the songs from their latest album. Michael Barnes' voice has held up quite nicely. Still sounds the same as day one. Will definitely be giving this a listen from day 1.
RED has been one of my favourite rock bands in recent years. I think their mastery of strings is something even Linkin Park could learn from. And "Pieces" is one of the most serenely beautiful songs I've ever heard in my life - insanely emotional vocal delivery. I will be anxiously awaiting this new album. "Damage" was absolutely monstrous in Release The Panic, and "Hold Me Now"/"If We Only"/"Glass House" were some of the best material the band has ever released.
Yes. Mike's voice is IMO one of the biggest parts of what makes this band good. And if you've ever been fortunate enough to see them live, you'll notice he's got a crazy set of lungs. If you're up close you can often hear his voice pretty strong without the mic. People who have done the acoustic experience on the tour bus say his voice is startlingly loud. He's just got a powerful sound with great range and it's a lot of fun to listen to.
I'm really excited about the graphic novel. On top of everything else, of course. What with the release date being as soon as it is I hope they start previews soon.
When you preorder, they give you access to early updates and music. I'll be sure to post some stuff here once I get it, but I definitely don't want to rip off the band by uploading everything.
