    Hardcore or Metalcore bands
I've been getting into more bands like this recently
I'd prefer them to be on the more melodic side
like singing not growling all the damn time
    Please and Thank You :D

I have no idea what genre they are, but 36 Crazyfists are pretty good.

Well, no. New A7X (last two albums) are not metalcore. However if thread starter hasn't heard their previous album, Waking The Fallen, do so, because as far as metalcore albums go, it's one of the best.

Also amongst the best are -

36 Crazyfists - A Snow Capped Romance, Rest Inside The Flames.
    Bleeding Through - The Truth.
As I Lay Dying - An Ocean Between Us.
Killswitch Engage - The End Of Heartache.
All That Remains - The Falls of Ideals.

They are pretty much essentials as far as new sounding metalcore goes. They all have an element on melody too, so they aint too harsh. As you like Atreyu, I'm guessing that's what you want. If you want heavier metalcore, ask.

I see you're from Bolton England.

    First off, Welcome. :D

Second (quick question so I don't derail the thread): Do you watch the Bolton Wanderers?

In any case; I highly recommend A7X's Walking the Fallen [Unless you've listened to it and you didn't like their earlier stuff either].
All of Wasop's suggestions are solid.

I do indeed. Season ticket holder since 1996.

I doubt he has, otherwise he wouldn't have written them off.

But have you heard pre The Beast and the Harlot and Bat Country (album title escapes me) stuff? It's nothing like that, and very similar to The Curse era Atreyu.

    More -

    Haste The Day - Dreamer
    Still Remains - The Serpent
    Trivium - Ascendancy
    Eighteen Visions - Obsession
Exit Ten - Remembering The Day
Poison The Well - You Come Before You
From Autumn To Ashes - Holding a Wolf By the Ears.

Not necessarily my favorites, but probably what you're after

As I Lay Dying, All That Remains, Trivium, Our Last Night, In Flames, Bullet for my Valentine, Misery Signals, Underoath, The Devil Wears Prada.

    Check out:
Misery Signals - The Failsafe, A Certain Death
As I Lay Dying - Nothing Left, The Darkest Nights, The Forsaken
All That Remains - Focus Shall Not Fail, Two Weeks, This Calling
In Flames - My Sweet Shadow, Trigger, Cloud Connected, Come Clarity
Trivium - Pull Harder on the Strings of your Martyr, Dying in your Arms
    Bfmv - Tears Don't Fall
Underoath - It's Dangerous Business Walking out your Front Door

And I agree with Wasop, it may be worth checking out A7X's early stuff, Unholy Confessions, Eternal Rest, etc. Their new stuff is no longer appealing to me.

Go a step up from all this shit and listen to Between The Buried and Me. Start with Colors, their new album is coming out soon also.

    That's AWESOME.

I just recently got into soccer [I used to play a lot before, could never follow the official teams though] this summer. Picked up Fifa and decided to play with the Bolton Wanderers as my Manager team. They have my loyalty from now on.

Other than what's already been suggested here, in regards to some of the less heavy bands I listen to and ones I think you might enjoy, I can think of:

Architects (In Elegance is an excellent "softer" song)
    August Burns Red
    Blessthefall
    Darkest Hour
    The Devil Wears Prada
Divine Heresy (their newer material anyway)
    The Haunted
    House Vs Hurricane
The Human Abstract (particularly their Nocturne material)
    I Killed the Prom Queen
    In Fear and Faith
    Lovehatehero
    Miss May I
    Parkway Drive
    Sea of Treachery
    A Skylit Drive
    We Stand Alone

Bolded are the more melodic ones. I would also most, most definitely second Jordan's recommendation of Between the Buried and Me.

Some new bands that are coming about that may fit your description:

The Word Alive - This band released an EP a few months back called Empire and it's fantastic. It contains six solid tracks with Casanova Rodeo being one of my all time favourite songs. This band is metalcore/post-hardcore and although this sound has been done time and time again, this band really sticks out and I can see nothing but big things for them in the future. Telle is also a fantastic vocalist.

Motionless In White - Another band that uses a mixture of clean vocals and screams combined with the metalcore/post-hardcore sound and electronics.

Of Machines - Their album released earlier this year is high up on my Album of the Year list. As If Everything Was Held In Place is an incredible debut album from the band. They are more post-hardcore/electronics/experimental rock. Check out the tracks Things Too Visible To See, As If Everything Was Held In Place, Becoming Closer To Closure, Lost In Translation and Reset, Reflect.

I See Stars - Probably the softer choice out of all the options I have provided. This band combined post-hardcore, screamo and metalcore and mixes it with electronica/dance. The songs that may appeal to you are Project Wakeup, The Common Hours, Save The Cheerleader, Save The World, The Big Bad Wolf and I Am Jack's Smirking Revenge.

Blessthefall - I'm also just becoming accustomed to this band so I don't know a lot about them. However, they have a new album coming out next week and the track, God Wears Gucci is great. Again, this band is in the metalcore/post-hardcore/electronica genre.
