So most of you guys probably never heard of this guy, so I'll tell you a little bit about him before I talk about his new album. A while ago Alex McMillan started making covers for LP songs, which grew in popularity because of his voice is (very) similar to Chester's voice. He made Razor Red Noise in 2006, which is his independent project. He's been making music ever since. So now I'll get on with his new album, The Parallel. At a high level, this album is about the concept of dreams; positive and negative experiences through them. And listening to this whole album multiple times, he shows that concept really good. In actual music content, this is an energetic album. He uses strong electronics throughout the album, with the traditional electric guitar. Though I like to compare him to Linkin Park sometimes, his music is very unique. I really recommend listening to the three singles from the album on his website, or listen to some of his older albums on their. This personally is my favorite album by him. http://music.razorrednoise.com/album/the-parallel
I've been listening to him for quite a few years. He started getting really good when he stopped doing LP covers and started making original music. He sounds best when he's as far away from LP-sounding as possible. His LP stuff was good, but his original work is on another level.
Personally, I prefer his instrumental project, In Viridian, over Razor Red Noise. He's talented, but his singing doesn't really do much for me. I'll give his new RRN music a listen though.
