Today Reddit / LPA user @Almamu has shared tracks from a series of old rap albums titled 'Rapology' featuring "Kenji" and "Xero". The songs first discovered by @LP Drew and now posted by @Almamu on our forums, include downloads to the tracks and artwork which are legit old rap albums featuring and partly made by Mike Shinoda. In the tracks, Mike seems to be going by the "Kenji" moniker and Joe Hahn seems to be going by "Artofficial" and are featured on two tracks, 'Drop' and 'Fiends'. Mike went by Kenji back in the day when he rapped with the Styles of Beyond crew, and they actually used to go by Junkyard Scientific (hence the Stick N' Move lyric) and you can hear this referenced in the track 'Fiends'. More information on these albums can be read at Discogs - Urban Network's Rapology 13 and Rapology 14. The CD and cover scans, which Mike did the designs for in some cases, are available here. The two tracks featuring Mike can be streamed from YouTube or downloaded below in WAV format: Kenji & Artofficial (of Xero) - Drop Xero - Fiends Mike reached out on Twitter to validate the tracks and give some background on them: Special thanks to @Almamu for ordering these and putting them out for us to hear. Trying to discover further info (backstory, fun stories etc), if I find out anything more I'll keep you all posted. This is an awesome find.
Always love when Mike tracks from 1996-2002 drop or leak. There's always some dope lyricism in these.
I guess I posted it on the wrong subforum here. I posted it simultaneously on lp association, LPLive and reddit. http://www.lpassociation.com/forum/...e-songs-featured-in-rapology-13-and-14.42890/ you might want to update the post.
As the one who discovered these songs (i posted the original thread) https://www.reddit.c...works_rapology/ here is some more info about the tracks: https://www.discogs....release/9521613 https://www.discogs....release/9622841 I first found them at discogs, if you click on artist the links will lead you to Xero's and Mike Shinoda's pages, further more both collections credit Mike Shinoda as the graphic designer. also the songs are about 1997-98 even though there is no info of it, thats my belief due to the fact that Rapology 16 was released at 1999 and since Chester joined at 1998-99 (its not sure, at interviews they say 99 but they have released some Hybrid Theory demos at LPU's that are from 1998) these demos should have been released at about 97-98. *Note: Xero's song is called "Fiends" not "Friends".
Ah. Mark from LPL brought it to my attention which is why we credited them. But if you'd want it to be sourced to Reddit instead, it's your choice. It's your rips after all haha.
The rips are mine but LP Drew is who found the cds for sale But I bought them. Take a look at my first post on LPLive or lpa pls: http://www.lpassociation.com/forum/...e-songs-featured-in-rapology-13-and-14.42890/
You actually posted it right. Only staff can post in news so you would've had issues posting there if you tried.
