I love Rap and I love Rock and the best songs of these to forces together has to be "Walk this way" and "It's Going Down". I think we all know who made those two songs. Now guys lets try to get in specific and lets say what Rapper we hate or Rock group we hate and why? I heard somebody say that Ludacris sucks in the other thread and in my mind there is no way in hell he sucks lol. Yes his new album wasnt the best but his first and seconds were amazing.
I think some rappers out there are not talented but there are a lot that are. Some of them actually rap about things besides bling and what not and have great lyrics. Eminem was my favorite rapper but ever since I heard of Atmosphere I can't stop listening to him. I was raised listening to the Beastie Boys so I think they are great as well. I also love Red and Meth. Although they do talk about a certain thing quite a lot they also write some great lyrics. I just don't like when rappers can't think of anything better to do so they just rap about the same thing over and over again. I love rap and rock together. Like Static X and Dead Prez on the track "Hip Hop" remix. I heard that awhile ago and I loved it. Basically my point is, there is good rap out there you just gotta find it.
that cd is amazing. <!--QuoteBegin--PauletteEMLPGC@Dec 11 2003, 08:08 PM Basically my point is, there is good rap out there you just gotta find it.
dont look on the radio or MTV, people .
Rap is meaningless. Talking about smoking weed, doin the hoes, big pimpin and riding up in bentleys and escalades with huge-ass rims is meaningless. You'll never find anyone who can relate to it. It's some bullcrap they make up because they think it's cool and to entertain all the preppy white kids who think they're hot shit. When writing lyrics, rappers don't put much thought into them, maybe because they're lazy, or too stupid to know how. There's no thought involved in writing about the bitches and busting a cap in someone's ass, and there's definitely no thought involved in making up words that end with 'izzle.' Then when everything's all recorded and complete, you end up with a CD full of words that you'll never find in the dictionary and the same beats or whatever you want to call it throughout the CD. And in the case of 50 Cent, or should I say fitty cent, you get all that crap plus a monotone voice to go with it. Then the music video comes along, same old crap. A bunch of rappers grabbing their nuts, running around with nearly naked girls surrounding them (can't complain about that) and driving up in their Benz, only to take their hands off their balls to make some weird hand motions. Rock on the other hand is so much better. Find a rock song with made up words...good luck. Find a rock song that no one can relate to, again good luck. Find a rock song without a real meaning behind it. You'll get bored searching. Writing rap lyrics is something anyone can do. Writing rock lyrics is an art. You can tell that most rock lyrics weren't something made up in 5 minutes while waiting for your homiez to finish using the bong so you can take a hit.
Haven't you read the rest of the thread, Not all rap is like that. I wish people wouldnt jump to conclusions before they hear the best of the genre.
Personally...i'm all about bling bling, 24 inch rims, pimping hoes, bong hits, and being the king of crunk. STILL BALLIN...TILL' THE DAY I DIE
I dont know how much crap they play on MTV but here in Canada they dont play that much crap rap. Its more like 60% here.

haha that's so true! half the time i don't understand wtf they're saying ---------------------- it depends on what they're rapping about. If they're rapping about pimping, hoes etc it sucks. but if they're rapping about important things then i have respect for the rapper. i just can't have respect for rappers like 50 Cent cuz all he seems to rap about is himself and how he has all this bling bling. but rappers like Eminem i have total respect for. but with rock i they use REAL English, they have a meaning in their lyrics, and people can relate. i mean honestly who really wants to sit down and listen to some guy talking really fast about all the women he has and how rich he is?
I pretty much don't like rap music mainly for the music. If these rappers decide to rap with rock bands, then I don't mind. They play that Rock Superstar song by Cypress Hill on the local rock station here and I like it a lot...but i dunno. I'm a linkin park fan so I listen to them most out of anything..sometimes too much, if that's even possible. It's okay to like rap but when you dress all "gangsta" just to be cool, isn't it too much? Just wondering.
If Snoop Dogg invented that word...that is original. You just said inventing your own word isn't original. Snoop Dogg is a genious. Without izzle words I think I would be dead.
MTV plays no music whatsoever. It's crap shows like the Real World 24/7. MTV2 plays rap constantly.
Yea, but this i'm talking about MTV Canada
