What do you think? Bit harsh on Zooropa for mine... http://spydistrict.com/2013/05/ranking-the-u2-discography/
My list would be a little different, but hey, opinions differ.. Here's mine - 1. Achtung Baby - By a long margin. This album was U2 at their finest, imo. Every single track is amazing. "Love Is Blindness" still makes me cry like a baby. 2. Joshua Tree - Again, pretty good, but some songs didn't sit well with me. "One Tree Hill" is massively underrated, and "Bullet The Blue Sky" is the ridiculously awesome. 3. Pop - Man, I lost my faith on humanity when I realised that very few people liked this one. This album has some amazing experimentation and a wonderful, carefree form of songwriting. My favourites - "Wake Up Dead Man" and "Do You Feel Loved". 4. All That You Can't Leave Behind - Not their most technical, nor their most creative. But still, it has U2 doing what it does best. "Beautiful Day" is overplayed as hell, but that doesn't stop it from being one of the best songs U2 has ever done. "Stuck In A Moment.." is pretty amazing too. 5. No line In The Horizon - People, for some reason, ignore U2's newer material, especially this album. But by doing that, they miss some real gems. "Breathe" is a masterpiece. "Magnificent" is classic U2. "Moment Of Surrender" is my favourite U2 song! Then why is this not higher in the list? Well, the other "experimental" songs aren't that good. The negatives almost cancel out the positives. 6. Zooropa - Massively underrated. Though I can completely understand why it wasn't very popular. 7. The Unforgettable Fire - Great songs. "Joshua Tree" completely overshadowed this one though. And these albums, I don't like : - 1. Any of their pre-Unforgetable Fire stuff - I hated the initial U2 sound. It just sounded weird and simplistic (in a bad way). Exceptions - "Sunday Bloody Sunday" and "New Year's Day". And maybe "11 o clock Tick Tock". 2. Rattle And Hum - Everyone hates this one, I don't really need to explain why. 3. How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb - Yes, "Miracle Drug" has superb guitar work. "All Because Of You" gets me pumped up everytime. But the rest of the album is meh. "City Of Blinding Lights" is almost a "remake" of "Where The Streets..". It's just U2 on auto-pilot. Also, this was the first time that I started to get tired of the political undertones in their songs.
