Random Thoughts, but only for music. Random LP Chat, but for all bands. Here it is. Want to talk about a band or artist, but not sure if there are enough fans here to warrant a thread? Or you've just heard an amazing album and you want to share your excitement with everyone? Tired of Tool waiting for the apocalypse before releasing their next record, and in need to express your exasperation? You've come to the right place. Zane is ready, are you? Thread on.
I love Starset too....just discovered them not to long ago and am now completely addicted...you should check out Downplay "Shadow with you" acoustic.. It's the band that Dustin Bates was in before Starset.
Zac Farro is not only playing on the next Paramore record as has been known for months, he is now officially back in the band. Paramore is now (after the departure of bassist Jeremy Davis in late 2015) again a trio, this time consisting of Hayley Williams, Taylor York and Zac Farro.
I think the first song I heard was Back to The Earth and thought it was ok...decided to listen to a few more and WOW...really impressed!
No 2017 releases for me to look forward to just yet, so I've been checking out things that I slept on last year.
I am gonna listen to the new P'Roach album (also if it will be doubtly good). And Three Days Grace should also bring something new this or next year.
Getting kind of hooked on the current Chainsmokers single. The only things I don't like about it are the opening couplet (because, come on ) and maybe the glossiness of the lead vocals because I feel they could stand to have sounded a bit more raw in the verses
Man, I love Florence + The Machine. Her voice is something else. Completely stunning. I could listen to her singing all day. It's so mesmerising
I was walking from Potbelly to a computer lab at UNT just now, and I for some reason had Dream Theater's "Surrounded" in my head. I haven't heard it today, or in a long time, which was really odd. How or why I was singing it in my head is a mystery, but it's one of my favorite songs of their's, from one of their best albums, from before they went full technical prog wankery. Even though it was released in 1991, it has a heavy vibe, but I fucking love the music of the 80s. Its got such a great mood to it.
Florence is great! I love how she went back to a more organic sound on How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful. It's her best album yet. Not to mention I saw her live last year and it was fantastic!
If anyone cares, you can get a free 6 month trial of TIDAL if you use the code "sprint" under "Redeem Voucher". EDIT: And now it's dead. It was only active for two more hours after I originally made the post.
I've finally checked CHVRCHES's EOE bonus tracks. and wow! they're really good, especially Get Away, it sounds better than some regular album tracks imo.
This may be my favourite pop song ever. A brilliant opening track to an unfortunately lackluster album.
I guess i like the more poppier stuff from Anti-Flag a little bit better than the agressive stuff. Thats the kind of music i want now!
