I didn't say I hated the song, just said it was a turnoff. Easier to Run has really great drumming, but the song suffers the same illness that most of Meteora suffers from.
Only good thing LP ever did was make ATS and get rid of loud guitars and metal influences. Forget that 2000-2006 ever existed. I refuse to acknowledge anything with metal or nu metal influences. My intellect proves superior so you should trust my opinion. Trust me, I listen to nin and Radiohead on the regular.
Acting like Meteora is actually offensive... It's merely a darker, more angsty version of Hybrid Theory with some left turns like BTH and NL (much as I dislike that song). IMO it's not some shockingly bad bastardization of HT or their early sound. We tend to both exaggerate the criticism of Meteora and greatness of ATS. But then again, this is an LP fansite so objectivity is lacking. Nothing wrong with that but it's something to consider. Gonna peace out now.
I cannot imagine what you think of actually bad albums if you have such a strong pushback against Meteora
Meteora's production, sampling, beats, melodies, etc. sound so much fresher than HT. Hybrid Theory feels years more dated in comparsion despite only being 3 years apart.
I agree. I also enjoy the guitar and beat production much more for a lot of Meteora. Meteora's production dates it less than Hybird Theory, and in my opinion there are a few songs from Meteora that are produced so well they could pass as modern (I think of Numb chiefly).
Compared to a lot of shit out there, Meteora is pretty good. It sits pretty low for me in LPs discography, though. I enjoy most of the songs from it on their own but I struggle to get through the entire album front to back.
