OK well I recently got my 4 GB memory card for my PSP and I wanna start downlading stuff onto it. I currently have the version 1.5 PSP so I know its cool to download emulators such as Snes games and sega games onto the memory card however to play newly released PSP games I have to upgrade to 2.0. My quiestion is after upgrading to 2.0 is it still possible to play the emulators that you downloaded when the version was still 1.5?
You need a computer to get the program to downgrade. I don't believe there is an official downgrader....so you need to check out some PSP fan sites and stuff for all that. I don't know if anyone will mind me giving out this link, but www.pspupdates.com has the stuff you'll need, as well as tutorials and things to learn how to do it.
Ok first off, no. If you upgrade to 2.0 you can not play the emulators/homebrew/etc. on it. There IS a downgrader to 1.5 and its fairly simple to use. Zakrisk if you went to PSPUpdates you'd already know there is an official downgrader.
I used to be a huge active member there...especially on their message boards...before I upgraded to 2.0 and lost interest in my PSP...And I didn't know Sony actually officially released one. I'm pretty sure they didn't want that. Odd.
OK well is there any software or trick that allows you to play the emulators aswell as the new PSP games without having to downgrade and upgrade?
Well Sony didnt release it, but it is a working downgrader. Ive used it but since firmware 2.0.6 lets you play wma files for music, I upgraded for that. And Hellflame, there aren't any programs allowing that, yet. There are hackers working on it though.
Well of course...but it's not official. By official, I meant, 100% safe made by Sony guaranteed to work...sorry I didn't clarify better. I heard that it doesn't work, though, if you've upgraded in the past?
Oh yeah I've downgraded a few times before with it. The only reason it didn't work with some people is because they didn't do it right.
