Its been a few weeks since you posted this, Hawk but one that a group of friends I used to play an online game with used http://www.simplemachines.org/ its free and pretty easy to use, and looks decent.
Thanks for your suggestion, but since we have decided to go with phpBB3 until we can upgrade to vB or IP.
