Ok so the Fallout 3 game is coming out on October 28th and I checked this site that can tell you if your computer/laptop is compatible enough... it said everything met or was beyond what it needed except the display card was only 128 mb memory and it recommended 512... how big of an issue is that just out of curiosity, because I dont wanna buy the game and have it not be able to work...
I will say that a 128 mb Graphics card vs a 512 graphics card is like... Half-life 1 to half life 2 difference, and you'll not likely to run the game at all. If you can, expect HUGE choppy play, and very huge visual lag. Buy a new graphics card ( And If needed, some other stuff ) For Nvidia: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+ NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT for Mac NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT Alll here are 512 acceptable Generally anything after the 8600. ( I haven't a clue about Ati Cards >< ) It's a big issue if you plan on running the game because the game probably wont run and if your very unfortunate, wont install x_X
well the problem is I have a Dell Inspiron something but I've played Call of Duty 4 on this laptop and it's looked great... plus I think the graphics card is "integrated" so unless there is another way to upgrade it...
i dont know but i have an almost 2 year old Inspiron 6400... Ive been asking around haha... does anyone know if you can still add better graphics memory or not edit: I went to dell.com and did a check up on what I have in my system and it said I have an ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 with a 256 mb mem (the game site said I only had a 128...) and the minimum for the game Im gonna get is ATI Radeon X850 256MB should it be ok enough?...
I have no Idea what the ATI product line is, but i'm pretty it's enough. You'll likely to play on all LOW settings though, to get smooth gameplay. You have alittle more than minimum, I still do recommend upgrading though.
i dunno how to go about doing that tho like what to get and such... recommended is a ATI Radeon 3800 series 512 memory but I dont know what the laptop version is...
Integrated means there's a graphics chip on the mobo, that's all. Although, I don't know how adding graphics cards to laptops works. In a lot of cases, your warranty goes bye bye.
well my warranty has already gone by.... one of those dell 1 year ones.... but I guess mine isnt integrated come to find out... so I can change it but apparently it will run well enough with what I have (look a few posts up) according to people I talked to today but Ill proly change it in the future.
