For Clarice, the greatest friend I’ve ever had.

Hate, war, disease, corruption, , resentment, and religion, are many of the reasons to end what is called humanity. Still, there is only one truly definite reason for the continuality of it. That reason is not love, not sympathy, mercy, redemption, empathy, nor affection. The main reason that we – as human beings continue to live is that of will. The reason that we are all here, is our will to survive. Even when all seems lost and when tragedy falls upon us, when we lose a loved one we grieve and some of us may choose not to go on living but most of us do not make that choice. Because of will, we keep living our lives, looking for religion or science to save us from our own faults. And at the end of the day, when the night covers the sky with blackness we are covered in the blanket of sleep yet we are still living in our own creations. We are adapting to them, thriving within them. We do not exterminate ourselves for we possess the fear of dying and not knowing what is after death. We live in the hate, war, disease, guilt, resentment; we live in the corruption, all because of our fear of the unknown and our will to keep on living which is tied very close to one another.

Chapter One: Genesis
Part One: Shedding an Old Life, Growing a New One

A lively sunflower
In a dying field
The world is crumbling before it
It knows not what it is
And is blind to the destruction around it
Just as we, the people of earth are blind to our own corruption

“Say you love me” he says, a huge grin on his face. He has not been this happy for a very long time. He moves his hand to her thigh and rubs it gently then moving his mouth closer to her face and kisses her cheek, her forehead, and her lips. They are cold, and they send a chill throughout his whole body, the cold exhilarates him, his skin on hers. He moves his hand from her thigh and redirects it to her shapely breast, cupping them one by one in his hand and pinching each nipple.

“Say you love me” he laughs, tears of joy streaming out of his eyes. He then takes his hand from her breast and lifts it up to his nose and inhales. The scent is marvelous to him.
The blood on it is so enticing. He smiles looking at his reddened hand and then to her stomach where his other hand holds the knife in place. He knows exactly what he has just done, and he feels no shame for it. In fact he feels proud of it, as if this is some great accomplishment that he has achieved.

The lights flicker above him, and he suddenly has a horrible migraine. He does not know where he is, and looking at the scene before him with his mouth is agape. Horror shines in his eyes, and he wonders how got here. He wonders why his hands are covered with blood and why his wife, why Ayuko the love of his life is splayed out before him with a knife in her stomach. The only other thought he can seem to manage is to escape, escape from what he ponders, thinking that he surely could not have done such a thing. And with that thought he gets up off the bed and is then surprised to see that he is fully clothed, as if it were his intention to kill his wife. Hurriedly he changes and walks out of his apartment door and into the hallway.

In the hallway Ms. Fukiyaki stands talking to her landlord, trying to explain to him that she does not have enough money to pay the rent this month. She is pleading, begging for just a little more time. The murderer walks past her and she glances at him, smiling. She has always liked Mr. Tanizuku and has found him to be a very kind man, not to mention that he has an absolutely stunning body. She waves at him but he keeps on walking, which is not like him at all. Immediately she has a sense that something is horribly wrong. Usually Mr. Tanizuku would have walked over to her, and talked about how his life was, what his wife was up to, about his job as being a police officer and occasionally giving her a harmless flirt, complementing her on her figure.

Looking towards him she opens her mouth in indecision, perspiration resting on her lower lip. She does not know what it is but something is different, so Ms Fukiyaki does something that on a normal day in normal circumstances she would never do. She discards her landlord and follows Mr. Tanizuku up the steps that lead out the front door and onto Jamie Street. She sees him through her eye as she approaches the first step, and when she reaches the second he is gone. A nail has just hit her head. Where did he go so fast she thinks, surely he could not have went out the door, he was right in her view just a second ago.

She continues up the stairs and through the door only to find that the road before her is not Jamie Street, that the blue Mitsubishi Eclipse that is her car is not anywhere in view and that she did not just walk out of a door that leads into her home, apartment A-3. Instead she finds out that she does not know where she is, and turning around the building of which she has come out of is nowhere to be seen. It is not behind her, which is definitely impossible. She sees trees, hundreds upon hundreds, maybe thousands in front of her she takes a step forward feeling somewhat dizzy and falls to the grass below her. She opens her eyes, and she is lying in the street as a speeding car heads right towards her, quickly she gets up and runs to her car which was not there a second ago. She opens her door and climbs in, resting her head on the steering wheel. In minutes she is asleep, and so are all of her memories before the previous moment. When she’ll wake she will not know her name, nor where it came from. All that she will know is that she serves him, that she loves him and that someday the two of them will be together.

Part two. What’s my name

The moon hovers in the sky above the earth. The light from it shines into the window of the blue Eclipse where Ms. Fukiyaki still sits, her back to the seat which is now pulled back into a lying position. It seems as if that she had made some adjustments in her sleep. Her head is still a wreck; it’s like as if liquid is flowing inside her brain and thickening, then becoming warm. Random thoughts flow through her mind but only one phrase sticks. “I am his, he is mine together we will break down the wall that is time” She laughs to herself and says out loud “I can rhyme” and smiles.

Ms. Fukiyaki looks out of her window of the car where she has been sitting for hours. She sees a man and as she makes eye contact he knocks softly on her window. She is not afraid of this man, and it doesn’t matter that he has a gun on each side of his waist. She knows what he wants. He wants to take her to him. She even knows of his desire for her, she knows that he is thinking about stroking her sparkly black hair, that he wants to look into her magnificent brown eyes and hold her. She knows that he wants to be intimate with her and she knows that he loves her, with all his heart. The most important thing she knows though is that he is filled with fear, the fear that if he acts upon his emotion then the other, the one that she loves will do to him. Fear of all the horrors that could be given onto him, he is truly afraid of this other, more afraid of death.

Ms. Fukiyaki looks at him and opens the door to her car, with all that she knows of this man there is something that she doesn’t. She does not know his name, smiling because his fear pleases her, which she has just now discovered. She steps out of the car as the man takes a step back resting a hand on a butt of each gun incase she refuses to go with him but as she walks towards him she takes further steps away from her almost tripping over a rock in the road. Her smile broadens.

“What is your name sir?” she asks while looking at his form. He is tall, about 6’2” and has a nice build, his muscles are hefty. The man looks stumped as if she has just asked him a question regarding quantum physics. He looks up to the sky and stares at the moon for a moment and then speaks.

“My… My name?” “Yes, your name” She looks to him as he raises his eyebrow. He is concentrating very deeply. “My name, my name, is” “Your name is?” “My name is uhhhhhh” The man’s tongue slowly hangs from out of his mouth. He can not remember his name; in fact he does not remember ever even having a name. And then it comes to him, like a bullet hitting its target and with force. “My name is Brian” he says. “I come to take you to, to the other one. She looks at his face and places her hand upon his. “I know why you’ve come, and I know where what you do not know. In fact I did not know until you just said it. Your name is not Brian, a human tongue cannot pronounce the name that he has given you. Brain is however the closet that you have to a name.”

“Come with me” he says lusting for her, needing her. Knowing he can not have her. “We’ve got someone to meet, do you know his name?” “No” she says honestly looking down in shame as if she had forgotten the name of her father. “No, I do not know his name. I do know however that I love him, I am for him and he is for me and together we will be complete” “I know what he is, he is something like a vampire but he is not a vampire, he is neither evil nor good because for him to be he would have to have the same morals of human beings. He does not share the same views as them, what he finds just is what they may find morbid. What he finds criminal they may find just” She looks at him, at his brown wavy hair and then into his emerald green eyes. “I know one other thing” He looks at her, standing in awe for a moment and then asks “And what is that?”
“I know that you love me” “You love me, but you are afraid to have me” “You could have me if you wanted me, but you would have to give me up when he wills it. It is his will that you are here. His will that you bring me to him, still you could have me if you wanted’ “I know what I can and can not have” Brian grumbles, lying. “I also know who you are” “You do? Who am I then?” “You are his” he says. “Do.. You know my name?’
“Do I know your name?” He takes is chance to smile “Ah, Yes I know your name” “You do not?” “I do not” “Oh, then I shall tell you, your name is Aireko” “You are to be the queen of the new world”

He walks to the road and turns left and she follows, he keeps in the same direction until he comes to an old banged up 1992 Ford F-150. He walks to the passenger side and opens the door. “Get in” Aireko gets in the truck and sits down looking out of the dirty windshield. He gets in the drivers seat and closes his door, keys the ignition and steps on the gas. He watches in wonder as the car begins to discolor it until it is colorless. He is always amazed by this even though he has seen it a countless amount of times.

Part Three. Discovery in the forest

He runs, and runs, and runs. “I could not have done it, no, it was not me. It could not have been. I loved her, I love her. No, tell me that I didn’t do it.” “How could I have done it!?” he screams while running in the forest. He does not know where the forest has come from, or how he had gotten there. He just walked out of his apartment building for Christ sake! This is impossible, this is too fucking unbelievable. He runs not knowing where he is going, his chest heaving up and down screaming for him to stop so it can get some air from his lungs. Tanizuku looks at his surrounding a tree in front of him, a tree beside him. To the left and to the right, trees everywhere. This is insane, surely he must be dreaming. But can a dream account of the horrible humming that rings in his head?
He doesn’t know. He thinks ‘maybe this is death, yes maybe I am dead and all the nightmares of my subconscious are enveloping me’. Yet, in his heart he knows that this is not a dream, this is not death. He knows that this is very real, as real as real ever was. He does not know why it is but it is. He does not know why he killed his wife but he knows that he did do it. Running, Toko Tanizuku begins to cry. To weep for all that he has lost and all that he will soon discover.

Tanizuku runs until he can run no more. He is surrounded by the night and its chilly breeze. He looks at the moon and is reminded of his time in the mental hospital thirteen years ago where he made best friends with a 17 year old Hiraka. It has been many years since he has last spoken to her, and he does miss her deeply. He doesn’t know why the moon would bring him such memories. Doesn’t understand what the slivery glow has to do with Hiraka’s dyed red hair or the chains that she always wore on her pants when she was outside the hospital. He doesn’t really understand anything but has a sense that she has something to do with what is going on. There isn’t a reason for this feeling he just feels that it is true. Toko looks away from the moon and moves his eyes towards the forest; the trees are still there but seem to have spread apart a pretty long distance away from each other.

In the grass below him there is a sun flower, it’s yellow leaves shine like super bright LED’s and the pollen core shines like then sun. It hurts his eyes to look at it but he still does. Walking over to it he begins to feel numb and the closer he gets the stronger the numbness. He bends down to get a closer look at the flower, shielding his eyes from its impossible brightness.

“What are you?” he asks knowing that it won’t answer him. In a way, it does.
The rose just stands there in silence knowing that it does not have to answer to this being if it does not wish. “Wait a minute” Toko thinks. “Weren’t you just a sunflower?” The wind blows the rose and it bends on its petals as if in response. In the blink of an eye the rose is a sunflower again and regains its former brightness. It seems that the flower answered his question knowing that he didn’t have to. “I know what you are, you’re my memories” He stares at the single daisy it just stands without reply. “I don’t know how, but you are my memories and you’re going to help me” Toko then proceeds to reach out to the Flower Lilly and when his hand connects with it his body is instantly filled with warmth. “I killed my wife, but it was not my will. It was his. I am part him, but I am not him” he begins to chant holding onto the flower. “I am not him, no. No. No. No. No. No. I am not him, and I am going to stop him, who ever he is.’ Toko gets up holding onto the sunflower and continues to walk the unclear path in the seemingly endless forest.

Part Four. Hiraka

The year is 1998, eight years before Toko Tanizuku walks through the forest of discovery and five years since Hiraka Hikaru has last talked to him. And in this year we find this mysterious woman in a place that all people go to and it seems as natural as night and day. Yet under the surface we feel unease creeping from out of our minds. Why would a shopping mall make us feel this way we wonder, the truth is that we have no idea. All that we can do now is observe and let the story unfold around us.

To the right is a man talking to a young lady, probably trying to seduce her. On the left are people scattered along the produce aisle hurrying to finish their business. Behind Hiraka are two security guards chatting away to each other a cup of Star Bucks coffee in one another’s hand. And directly in front of her stands a man that she was knew as a pastor from her time in America. His name was James Franklin, Pastor James Franklin. Looking at this man fills her with hate. It is the man that had tried to rape her when she was only 14. So, that being she has plenty of reason to hate this man. But that is not the only reason for her resentment towards him; he is also the man that made her begin to lose her faith in god. Yes, her father getting hit by a drunk driver played a big part in it, still this man helped a pretty big deal.

Hiraka takes a step backwards where the security guards watch her and the man that is walking towards her. They feel as if this woman is trying to get away from this man, like he is bothering her. They step forward as she steps back and then she falls. She is falling for a very long time and it doesn’t make any sense. She is not that high from the ground, it should take less than a second. Furthermore she does not remember tripping over anything. That is because she did not trip of just any one thing. She has tripped over a man created portal, a portal that leads into an infinite forest and where she’ll learn that eight years from now, her former best friend will find the Prophesy Flower. Where Toko will find the flower that changes it self whenever it wants, that holds brightness almost equal to the sun, the flower that was made to save the world, or if man wills it, to destroy it.

“Hello Hiraka” a stranger’s voice says. She can not see him, her eyes still closed from the abrupt fall. She slowly opens them and looks forward where a short man stands. He is wearing a red vest and red shorts, his hair is long and straight. “Don’t tell me” Hiraka says. “I’m dreaming and you’re an elf” The man looks at her and laughs. “You are not dreaming he says and I am no elf, I am human just as you, though I may be more informed than yourself” “Informed of what?”
“That is what you are here to discover Ms. Hikaru the strange looking man says.
“How did you know my name?” “I know your name, as you know mine” “I do not know your name, or where I am” Laughter escapes from out of the short mans chest. “You do!! Ho Ho, You do!” “I do not” “Think what you may for now Ms. Hikaru, think what you may”

I think that this is a good stopping point for me. I have written this all in one session and I need to get my mind into order. Already I have developed emotions for my few characters. I am looking for someone to help me to write this story; I do not yet know if it will be a novel or a novella. My goal is to have at least 200 pages or 70,000 words. If anyone wants to help me with this that being with my horrible grammar or of collaborating together with me to write a work of fiction let me know. I know that I use repetition a lot. It may be my most dangerous fault but it I’m a sucker for it. I like repletion it helps me to enhance a story’s well, story. Thank you.
