Or not. He did a good job with Hybrid Theory, but he totally messed up Meteora. It was not a good follow-up album, and I believe it would have been a lot better if Mike took the helm for that CD.
I agree. The lyrics on Meteora weren't that great, and as Chester and Mike said, he made them re-write the songs over and over. Had they not re-written them that many times, they probably wouldn't have said the word "pain" at all and then the record would've been as good as or better than Hybrid Theory.
Don Gilmore did great with Hybrid Theory and Meteora.. Mike did great with Reanimation... but it wasn't an album I could listen too over and over again like the others. Maybe they could work together and than the album would be like even more amazing than the other ones..if it is possible
I voted for Mike, because I like his style of how he writes, but on 'Nobody's Listening' he took 'em a little out of control.

[/b][/quote] You have a good point. I wonder sometimes what the original chorus for Somewhere I Belong was. It was re-written, what, 40 times? That's a lot of change.
You people are weird....Meteroa is an excellent album. To each his own. Anyway..I'm going to pick neither and go with Rick Rubin. If you don't know who he is....go find out. I'd like to see the results of him working with LP.
I think Mike would do an excellent job as a producer. The only reason I didn't like Don was because he kept on making them write the lyrics over and over. [And my guess is that's why they got so simple...but I still love Meteora ] My only concern is if that'll be too much work for Mike.
It's called an opinion, start respecting them. Meteora was a very good cd, just not as good as the debut. It's got the better riffs, but the lyrics needed help. Change is good, I'd like to see Mike producing the next album. That way, we could have the album the way the band wants it, not from what Don thinks is best. Don has produced lots of awesome albums, I just think with Mike at the helm, we can have another Hybrid Theory. Mike and Chester need to step up their writing for the next effort too, the lyrics from HT are deep and amazing, while the Meteora ones are not as good. They need to write what they like, not to impress Don.
I would like Mike to produce there next album which I hope will be out in a long time and I think he should prduce it becouse I liked Reanimation alot, I like all 3 of there albums equaly and I think if the next album had a little sprinkle of Reanimation style it would be very good and I thinkg Mike would love producing another album again.
I think they should both produce the album. To Bryan: I've heard that Shifter is the demo of Somewhere I Belong They also might have just made little changes and not any major ones
