I recently installed Kazaa Lite Resurrection onto my computer and it seemed to be working fine until one day it wouldn't open when I double clicked on the shortcut. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and rebooting my computer, but it still won't open. Does anybody know of any Windows programs that might be blocking my access to the program, or is there something else I'm missing? Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know what the problem is, but I wouldn't use Kazaa if I were you. I know all P2P programs have viruses on them, but Kazaa is full of them. And a ton of fake files too.

I'd use either LimeWire or Ares if I was you. I had Kazaa for the longest time and I could never find anything I wanted.

But about your problem... maybe your antivirus program is blocking it? If you have one?

Kazaa's quite good for videos. But you're right, it is plagued with viruses. Maybe I'll check out LimeWire.

Use Bittorent. You can download albums at a time instead of just song by song. Even discographies, if you can find a torrent for them. ;)

I'm well aware of BitTorrent. ;)

The problem is; if you want older albums (à la old Nine Inch Nails or Foo Fighters releases), good luck finding a seeder.

Limewire seems to be doing well.

I easily downloaded the full discography of NIN [I'm pretty sure all the albums are on there].

www.kerrazy-torrents.com is a good torrents site. There's usually at least one seeder on a lot of them. And if there isn't just ask for someone to reseed it in the torrent's topic. ;)

Still, it's much quicker to get older songs off a program such as Limewire rather than go to a site, ask someone to reseed an album, wait a few hours for them to reply and reseed, then download the entire album off one peer. On Limewire, I could type it in, download the file off numerous peers, and have the entire thing within 15 minutes. BitTorrent's only good for new, hot downloads.

BitTorrent -> New albums, new movies.
Other -> Older albums, single songs, older movies.

I use a combination of Limewiere AND Bittorrent for the exact reasons Mark stated above: BT doesn't host (that many) old albums.

Oh, and Tomi, 2 singles are missing off of that NIN Discography torrent. ;)

lol, i use a triple threat method for whatever music/movie i want, it just depends on where it is hiding, whether it be LimeWire, mIRC, or BitTorrent

I use Bittorrent & Lime Wire. I tried using IRC networks but it wasn't for me.

I've been able to find everything on Limewire. I've just started using BT. so far it's ok. iTunes will work great too, that's if you don't mind spending the 99 cents for a song.

I prefer Bearshare a little over Limewire, tried them both. Bearshare has a lot fewer fake files than Kazaa, and basically no viruses/spyware.

Soulseek is the best P2P program as far as the number of files on it, but not many people use it so a lot of files are offline all the time.

stay away from imesh as well. imesh has a load of spyware. not many virues, but a crap load of spyware.

soulseek is ok, i have it, but the search engine on it sucks. it will never find an exact match for me, but if you search for just an artist or song itself it will bring up a lot of files.

i think everyone has pretty much suggested limewire, so try that out, or stick with iTunes.

I downloaded Billy Corgan's TheFutureEmbrace on LimeWire track by track and it took maybe 5 minutes.
