There is already a topic about this, but for the record: My personal opinion doesn't agree with the practice, but women have the right to have an abortion in a safe, steril, and legal government sponsored facility.
Like Bush, I am for a partial ban on abortion (Pro-Life). I believe that if a girl gets pregnant through the result of rape, incest, or other unlawful methods that she should be able to have an abortion. However, if someone doesn't wear protection while fully knowing the risks and gets pregnant then I believe they should live with the consequences. While some might say that's harsh, kids are ALWAYS being told to excersize safe sex and are always being told the ways to prevent a pregnancy. If they still risk STDs and pregnancy after all they've been told, I believe it's their fault and they should live with it.
I agree with you Derek but the problem is...how are they going to partly ban it? I guess they could say it's alright if someone was raped but then they'd need full proof of that and the situation would be too confusing. I can't really say simply that I'm pro-choice or pro-life anymore. I do not believe that it is alright to use abortion as birth control and use it when you are responsible and in control of the situation. I think it should be used if somebody is raped, and other conditions along that line.
I agree with Todd. I am on birth control and if I were to get pregnant (birth control is not 100%!), I would like to have the option to choose.
Pro choice. Doesn't have a birth certificate yet, can't be given a death certificate without a birth certificate, so how can it be killing a baby? Women flush potential babies out monthly on those glorious days...

i don't understand when people say "it's ok if someone gets raped but anything else just have the kid" people will always find ways to get out of the situation if they don't want the baby. i use to think that it was ok if you got raped but after debating with some friends about it they changed my opinion on it. so i think a woman should be able to have an abortion if she'd like. first of all we don't want any unwanted children. i mean picture being the kid and knowing that you were an "accident". how hurt would you be? or if the dad left your mom because she got pregnant and you found that out. i mean you'd feel so unwanted and unloved. no one should feel this way. and secondly, what if the parents don't have the money to support a kid? then what? just have the kid and screw up it's life. it's just much better not to bring a child into your life if you're not ready for it. and yeah people say just give it up for adoption but the parent would always know that they have a child out there and one day their child will be curious who their real parents are and will probably coming searching for them and if they find the parents then what? what are the parents going to tell the kid? i hope that made sense....
That made perfect sense, May. That was very well stated, and I completely agree. I wouldn't want to put a child through all of that crap, that would be horrible.
i believe that prevention is the best answer. if you dont want something, then be aware not to put yourself in the situation when the consequences you dont want to bear and dealt with. if you dont want to get pregnant, use the means not to. not all babies who are result of 'accident' are unloved or not wanted. there are situation when you dont plan pregnancy but when you find out you might be happy about it.
dude ur talking about a baby as consiquences! can you imagine haveing ur mom be a 12yr old who has no life or future, or a coke whore or someone who turns out to be a child molester, or someone who abandons u to die? or what if they have AIDS and then u would have AIDS. are those ppk soposed to have kids? and what if these kids who get pregnant were never taught about safe sex?(it happens A LOT ppl!) this istn simple. these poor girls who's lives are compleatly ruined because of ONE mistake, or accident. most girls who get an abortion never get another one. and w/ the way Bush is now, it is getting harder and more expensive to get waht u need to prevent pregnancy. the morning after pill is around $50 and there is no way to get BC over the counter, what if the girl can't go to the doctor and doestn have insurance? in a lot of other countries BC is available over the counter. that is the way it should be here! sex is a very complicated thing. it and pregnancy is so much more complicated than some of you seem to grasp. and b4 the "baby" can survive on its own it is a paracite. it takes the life and energy from its host until it is strong enough be to on its own. it is so hard on a woman to go through that. i think abortion should be legal and accepted. y ruin two lives if you can prevent it?
The problem is, that would never work. Why? Well people aren't honest. Girls would lie and say they were raped when they were really just ####ing around, so they could get an abortion. Either it has to be legal or banned, but not some half-ban. Which side of the spectrum I'm not I do not know, but I think it has to be all or nothing.

[/b][/quote] although I agree with your pro-choice stance, you're going to have to start making better sense here. punctuation is your friend. as with Todd and nearly everyone else, it's the woman's body, her pain and suffering, and should be her choice whether to keep the baby or not. great point, TeMpEsT!
We have abortions for a reason. It's a woman's right to choose whether or not she will have a child. Sometimes it can worsen an already bad situation. I don't believe aborting an early fetus is murder.
