I saw a thread for this a couple of weeks ago, but can't seem to find it. Anyway, it's out there, but I/m surprised it hasn't been posted on this site. Basically I wanted to know if it's definitely going to be on LPUX or if it's just going to fall by the wayside? Any confirmation on this?
Mike confirmed that it's gonna be on the CD when he was calling people a few days ago. But he seemed to have been playing stupid when he said that it hasn't been released yet, or if he didn't actually know any better.
Been out for awhile. It's really really amateurish, I wasn't sure it was Linkin Park at first, it took awhile before I could be sure. It sounds like some high school garage band with a Chester wannabe singing. That said it'd be hilarious if when they actually do release it "for real" it's a completely re-done song. I'm gonna post it here, since as far as I know if it's on YouTube it doesn't count as file sharing. if I'm wrong I apologize. Oh yeah. How bout that. On that note, how the hell did you manage to end up with it if it's supposed to still be unreleased?
I almost can't even blame Mike. For God Sakes LP.com/LPU.com...maybe you want to advertise that there's A NEW LP SONG OUT? .
Dude, everyone who pre ordered LPUX got the song instantly. As I said in my last post, how does the website not advertise a new song when you purchase? It means that unfortunate people like you don't know that you can get the song right now. Hell, Mike Shinoda himself doesn't even know it's been released. It's like they're going all out to thin out the LPU (with this and the expensive prices).
I love Pretend To Be, its one of my favorite songs along with some of the ATS tracks. It doesn't sound like anything Linkin Park has done before, and has a Minutes to Midnight vibe. Though why am I saying this, almost everyone here has already heard it!
I don't hate "Pretend To Be" ... but it's definitely one of my least-favourite Linkin Park songs ever. Along with the other demo's or whatever we got to hear after "Minutes To Midnight" was released.
I really like it too. If it would have been worked on more, it would have been a great song. But as a demo I think it sounds great.
I agree with Ben there. It is great as a demo, but if that was to be put on an album it wouldn't have been any good.
With the exact version we have now, yes. But I did say that if they would have worked on it more, it could have had potential. Haha maybe something like a rap verse?...I dunno. This hitself is directed towards LP Management:
eh . . . . i don't think a rap verse would fit into this song. I enjoyed the song, but it DEFINITELY was been there done that, In Pieces version 2.0. I'm glad that we just got it as a B-Side/Demo rather than an album track, because while I like the song alone, if it were on an album, I would be rather appalled to be quite honest.
I seriously like this song. And for a demo, it blows me away. The drums were so not good at first, but once I got used to it, man, I couldn't stop listening. I know most of you'd say I'm exaggerating, but anyway. Cool song.
