Can't wait to see the merch. Hoping for some new designs rather than just the new logo's we've been seeing etc.

Sweet! I think I'll probably just get the special edition with the DVD and stuff. Definitely want the exclusive t-shirt though; that's sweet. Says there'll be another one out later, too? I don't think I really care about the coffee table book, but I don't know, I may shoot for it anyways just b/c I love the band that much.

LPA has been a plethora of frickin' news today. It's crazy; I can't keep up with all of this and the posts by everyone, there are just too many.

I havn't complained about anything to do with the album thus far but I think it's pretty fucked up that the extra tracks package is only available to the US. I don't see why they don't just put the extra tracks on the special edition of the CD ffs.

    What a pile of dung.

I'm from the UK and I have already pre-ordered my MTM album. I did it about a month ago from play.com

Just to ask out of interest... on play.com it only has the MTM listed as a CD. It doesn't say 'special edition' or 'CD & DVD' so would that most likely mean I'll just be getting the normal CD and possibly without the booklet (containing lyrics) inside?

Urgh, my post got deleted so I guess there was something wrong (even though I believe it was on topic). Must have been me showing the site I pre-ordered from.

Well it sucks the US get the special tracks. Hope my pre-order consists of the DVD. Most likely not.

Word of advice: Never pre-order CDs from PLAY when the details havn't been released yet. ;)

You can cancel the pre-order you know, if I were you I certainly would because PLAY don't have any of the details displayed so it's a possibility that you are indeed just getting the CD without anything else with it.

Hmmm, I'll have to most likely cancel the order then. Trouble is I have no idea how. I'll have to check over once again as I'd prefer the CD/DVD version. Who wouldn't!?

I wonder. they were given a $15 million advance for this album from Warner during those negotiations (IIRC). do they have to make that $15 million, give it back to warner and THEN whatever is made after that is divided up between warner (like 95% *rollseyes*) and the band?

regardless, they are gonna get over $100 from me. several copies of the CD, iTunes version of the album, and probably a bundle or two.

Linkin Park is the only band that I make sure I buy EVERYTHING that they put out, lol, I support them 100%

The bonus tracks on iTunes normally (maybe ALWAYS!) cannot be bought with out buying the complete album.

I want every bonus track released in any country, any US store, iTunes, etc

    WMP? Are you crazy?

iTunes is technically a better system to get money to artists than CDs. At the moment, DRM is kinda screwing that over, but it does give more money to the artists. As opposed to CDs, where the artists get about 5% of profit from a 15$ cd, 99c per song for a typical 12 song album, that's 12$, of which I would say about 20% minimum goes to the artist, it's a much better deal.

And I would beg to differ on your 'hip-hop people use iTunes, rock people use Limewire' point in your prior post. If anything, it's reverse. While rock people use iTunes since most rock songs are official, hip-hop people use Limewire due to the unprecedented amount of remixes, mixtapes, and unofficial collabs that are not available in CDs.
