Hello dear LPA people! I absolutely love Post Traumatic, so I decided to pay tribute to this wonderful album in a series of small watercolor paintings. They are inspired by each song and feature some of the lyrics that moved me the most. I haven't been drawing traditionally for about 5 years, so it's quite a challenge - but a fun one! Here is artwork No. 1, inspired by Place To Start:
@Michele & @Ksandory: Thank you for the kind words! Here is the second card: Over Again! Just like the song, it's based on the Hollywood Bowl tribute show for Chester.
@Dragondust: Thanks! ^^ Card number 3: Watching As I Fall! For this one I thought of a water theme, like “drowning in sorrow”.
Thank you very much, Dragondust! Since the art is so simple, I wanted to make at least the pictures a bit more interesting. ^^ But I was constantly scared that the wind might blow the card into the creek. It was quite an adventure. xD
Indeed! I like how simple it looks like, but ist definitely more than simple art. The quotes (that we mostly all know) with the background let you think about things. Thats what art should do, right?
@Ksandory: Thank you very much! That's probably the nicest compliment for any artist. Here is the fourth card: Nothing Makes Sense Anymore! It's heavily inspired by the video. I was very impressed by the upside-down, burnt tree.
The fifth card: Crossing A Line! It's inspired by Mike's teaser: A black line. I added the heartbeat to show that despite such a tragic loss, life still goes on.
@Ksandory: Thank you very much! It means a lot to me, that others like my art. I don't have an idea for "About You" yet though, so I'll probably wait until more songs (or the whole album) are released before I continue.
