I have an 80gb portable hard drive that contains most of all of my music and it suddenly stopped working. Instead of spinning, the hard drive just kind of clicks for a minute or two and then stops altogether. I can't get any computer to recognize it at all and I'm worried because of the music. Any suggestions?

Doesn't that mean the little lever-thing on the harddrive may be off and you need to readjust it?

When I had my old 20gb iPod model that happened to it. I had to open up the iPod and move that little lever back over the hard drive because it had slipped down, and it started working again.

I guess it slips off sometimes?

If you can put it as a slave on another computer or something you could run some diagnostics on it.
