From their official site: The new Porcupine Tree album Deadwing is scheduled for release on March 21st by Lava Records / Warner Music. Recorded between March-October, the album has been mixed in both stereo and 5.1 versions. Once again the 5.1 mix was done in collaboration with Grammy award winning producer Elliot Scheiner. There are guest appearances by Mikael Akerfeldt of Opeth, and Adrian Belew of King Crimson. The final track listing of the 60 minute album is: 1. Deadwing 2. Shallow 3. Lazarus 4. Halo 5. Arriving Somewhere But Not Here 6. Mellotron Scratch 7. Open Car 8. The Start of Something Beautiful 9. Glass Arm Shattering "Shallow" will be released as a single in the US in mid-February. In the meantime, deadwing.com, a microsite dedicated to the album will develop as the release date approaches, with audio, video and other media relating to the album added to the site on a regular basis. The European tour starts at the start of April, and a US tour will commence in mid May. Steven Wilson is a musical genius and having Mikael Akerfeldt singing/playing guitar on this album blesses it for sure. Hopefully this will be a mix of the atmospheric space rock of their early albums and their more focused, Pink Floyd-ish sound with a bit of metal for good measure. Definately a prog release to look forward to! As for the site, check out deadwing.com as it has a cool intro page, where you assemble this puzzle which unlocks a video teaser to the album, and keep checking because more media will be added to the site soon!
