There are some situations where AI might be acceptable. And that is training it on your own voice to help with the vocal creation process before doing actual recording, or helping to artificially hit notes you'd otherwise not be able to, or by using it similarly to autotune/vocoders. BUT With the proliferation of AI covers on YouTube, TikTok (and the internet in general), it's only a matter of time before someone trains a model to use voices from Linkin Park, which without express consent of each person's voice involved, I think is disrespectful and unethical. It also obscures fact from reality, giving someone the ability to pass off an AI creation as authentic. For example, someone could train an AI to use Chester or other Linkin Park member's voices to create a newly discovered LP "demo."
For example, this is the sort of stuff I'm talking about: Albeit, these aren't very great, but the technology is rapidly advancing. Also these were obviously trained on other artists voices as well to make the covers of the songs (capturing the OG artist's melodies). It gets more concerning when people start making original works.
Nope. Cuz it wasn't (isn't) offically a rule to not post 'em. And retroactively banning someone for breaking a rule before it was a rule ain't right. lmao. Thought we were friends, mate.
It wasn't an announcement but a request. I mean if the forum and administration is okay with them then fine. Iol
been having massive tooth pain recently and everything seems serious. like even that smiley seems condescending. lmao.
While I understand how people do not like AI covers, part of me also finds them interesting from a "this is what could have been" stand point. If it's posted and it's clearly stated as an AI cover, I see no real reason to police them or the people that post them. Your concerns, while valid, hold merit, however, I don't see this as an infractionable offense. Unless it becomes spam, which is covered already in the rules.
