Ozzfest just seems to get more Death Metal every year to me. It was greater back when bands like Korn and LP used to be in it, now it's gone so hardcore I probably wont enjoy it.

And to think..I vowed to go see Ozzfest once in my life. Eh anyways, I heard Ozzy might not be able to sing anymore because of his injuries, according to an interview he did. I guess Ozzy got better.

Ozzfest is changing with the times. They can't just keep putting nu-metal on their stages. They're like MTV to me. They change their format to suit the bands that are going to be there.

Since "death" metal, as you put it, is becoming popular, and "nu metal" is dying, it's only natural to have "death metal" on there.

I'm excited about Slipknot, Hatebreed, Judas Priest, Atreyu, Lamb Of God & Superjoint Ritual, actually. I could care about Dimmu. I'll probably go and get some merchandise while their set is playing.

I FINALLY GET TO SEE SLAYER. YES. (w00t)

I only want to see Linkin Park on Ozzfest when they have heavier material. I don't think the Ozzfest crowds will respond well to their "slower, emotional" type stuff on Meteora. But you never know.

OZZfest is for heavy, not-so-mainstream music - not nu-metal.

Papa Roach, Limpbizkit, Korn, Linkin Park, Crazytown, etc.

They've all been on Ozzfest. They're popular, and nu-metal.

This is one of the best line-ups. I love the bands on the main and rotating second stages.

Yeah but back when they (LP) weren't all that popular and were just coming out.

Linkin Park were still relatively unknown in summer 2001. They didn't really get huge until In The End came out around late September and threw them into rock superstardom.

They were popular, just not super huge popular like today.

And they still had that nu-metal label back then, too.

The only reason LP and those other bands were on OZZfest was because it was an easy way to make money.

Seeing as how nu-metal is dying and everyone hates it, OZZfest is going back to its roots, which is heavy, not-so-mainstream music.

it's the way it should be, in my opinion.

there's other concerts out there that showcase the "right now" bands. Ozzfest, in my mind, focuses more on the second stage than any other stage.

Just look at the line-up for the second stage. There's more bands on that stage than on the main stage.

I heard that during one of the Ozzfest once, basically the whole crowd went to see the second stage.

    EDIT: Hmm. This is weird!

I found a different date list for Ozzfest. I even searched on Ticketmaster, and the Tennessee date you listed was wrong. The Tennessee one is in Nashville on the 22nd of July at the Starwood Ampitheatre.

I thoght Ozzy nearly killed himself and would never be able to sing again...? Anyway, I look at most of those bands and just think that they're all the same in the sense that theyre not as popular and all their music is is satanic suicidal sh*t.

I know it's your opinion, but damn do I hate it.

I won't say anything further. But, have you even listened to some of these bands? If you're honestly saying Judas Priest & Slipknot sound the same, something must be wrong with you.
