For those who wanna talk about the song without worrying about spoiling people.

Do NOT post links or ask for them!

My only issue is the bridge is boring, nothing really going on there, like the rest a lot though. The second verse is beautiful and the chorus is nice and catchy.

Only listened to it one time but really enjoyed it. Very different than I thought it was going to be but I feel that I'm going to love the song more and more as I listen to it even more.

It feels like Final Masquerade with some LT/MTM mixed in, with Gunship-styled vocals. I fucking dig it so much.

Verdict is out on if I like it more than TEM, but definitely more than HITC.

Edit: Alternatively, "what if Demi Lovato but Linkin Park"

The song gets a bit repetitive which is weird for an under 3 minutes song. That and I agree that the bridge could have *something* more. But other than that, very solid track, really enjoyed it.
This makes 3 very different songs that have been released so far, and I love that. Not sticking to just one thing, taking some risks. Can't wait for the album

Couple of discussions point I'd be curious about, for those who have heard it. Feel free to answer to any of those, if you feel like it ^_^
    • Does the vibe of the track hold similarities with other songs Jon Green collaborated on?
    • How well does the track fit with TEM and HITC?
    • Do you think OEO can keep up with the crazy pace TEM and HITC have set up in term of charts and performance?

I think OEO will outperform HITC, personally. It's much more accessible as a song.

    1. Yes
    2. Totally different in terms of sound/genre. Kills the idea of From Zero being a nu-metal album.
    3. Probably not

Least favorite of the 3 but it has some aspects that I like a lot. Emily shows a different side of her vocal ability on this one.

If my estimation of LP's live shows are any indication, Mike will be singing the "are we over each other" line during the bridge while Emily sings the high vocalization and the echoed "over egg other" that happens in the choruses, and it'll be stuck.

It took me probably 5 listens to really get into this one. Its quite different from what we have heard so far and totally not what I was expecting (I don't know exactly what I was expecting but it wasn't this lol). I think I'll appreciate this one more when I get to hear it on the album sandwiched between HItC and Casualty.

I like it a lot... When I was listening to the song, it reminded me of Periscope by Papa Roach. And who produced that song? It's our boy Colin :)

Just listened to that Papa Roach track (and also to Gunship, mentioned earlier in the thread).

I like that vibe. If OEO is anything similar, I would definitely go along with it.

I like the vibe of the song but it's too dam repetitive.

This one's hard to judge because, without Mike or Chester on vocals, and no real rasp from Emily, Over Each Other is the least "Linkin Park" sounding song they've ever produced in my opinion. That said, as with the previous two singles, I can still close my eyes and hear Chester's interpretation. She channels his spirit wonderfully.

It's my least favourite of the three so far, but it's not bad by any means. In fact, I'd say on first listen I enjoyed it more than my first impression of The Emptiness Machine. But that may be because I've embraced and warmed up to Emily's voice now.

I'm seeing a lot of comparisons to One More Light, but there's a palpable sense of urgency here and focused energy rather than passive reflection. People elsewhere keep trying to place it in past records, but I think Over Each Other rightfully belongs as something new in the From Zero era.

    1. The vocal melodies, particularly in the chorus, definitely remind me of One More Light in general. Jon Green seems to know how to zig a melody when people expect it to zag.

    2. This track definitely pushes the album in more of a OML/MTM/LT direction. A much more direct alt rock/pop ballad. The instrumentation is very much *not* OML though, it's more of your typical rock band sounds.

    3. I don't think it will but then again who knows, rock music is pretty desperate for new hits. TEM was the big surprise LP comeback, HITC had the League connection, this one will more have to stand on its own as a song.

There are some solid Mike harmonies on here, but they might be mixed a bit low for my tastes.

Also the metronomic clock ticking sample that is in the first verse and chorus tickle my ears so good.

I failed at saving the rest after HITC.

I like how blended it is, and how the distortion in the guitar is despite that. I also like Emily’s performance quite a bit. On first listen, I think this track is all it needs to be, like the others. It’s not exactly what I come for but I really appreciate it. I thought Linkin Park flexing in this direction on OML was a good idea on an artistic level, so I’m happy to see it again.

For me, this sits between TEM (#1) and HITC (#3) on my rankings of the officially-released singles.

Finally catched up on that one!

It's really good, much better than what the initial feedback led me to believe. Great atmosphere. I love how Emily switched her singing style on this one.

Lots of stuff happening within the short run time, there is not a single chorus being the same as the previous one.
