 This is one of the best indicators of where the music industry is going! Zomba can't get profit outta these guys so they're history. Its terrible that people like Britney Spears and all the other pop #### that Zomba has signed is there, but a band that routinely defines a GENRE is let go....Disgraceful

Well, even they won't have as much distribution on another label (probably less prominent than MFN/Zomba), they will be much more supportive. MFN has been very restrictive and would only allow Opeth to show songs from albums under THEIR label on their new DVD!!! And when Mikael did vocals for the new Ayreon album MFN wouldn't allow them to put the name OPETH in their CD booklet.

My best bet is someone like InsideOut America (amazing support but is a very prog label though) or Metal Blade (probably a much better fit for the band)....although if they could get onto LAVA Records (Porcupine Tree's on that major label) then that would be awesome. :D

Ballz. That really blows, I don't think Opeth will have any trouble finding a label though. They're a great band and very, VERY respected.

I agree with TeMpEsT , they are a great band and it wouldn't be fair if they don't find a new label. But there are many great bands that don't have a label..

    That.

Not that it'll hurt Opeth, they're amazing.

Ya, It's not like Roadrunner is going to Re-Issue all their CD's IF they sign Opeth. And that's a huge if, because I don't see them fitting in there.

Nuclear Blast or Century Media though..

Did i say anything about old albums? I just stated that those two own, and i wanna get their next album too.

And i think Adema in Earache is a MUCH bigger surprise.

All of their albums pre-Blackwater Park (Still Life, MAYH, Morningrise, Orchid) have all been re-released in the past few years by Peaceville Records and Candlelight Records. So its UNLIKELY there will be anymore re-issuing.

I am still dying for a copy of Morningrise :p
IMHO, Still Life, My Arms Your Hearse and Morningrise (I've heard half the album) are the best Opeth albums....BWP and Deliverance were good, and Damnation was awesome but they can't compare!

I'm the only person who liked Damnation the most? -_-
Most people say it was their worst album, but I can't picture Opeth doing anything bad.

I like Deliverance more than any CD I have, but Damnation will remain my person favorite by Opeth, since it was the first Opeth CD I ever bought.

In any case, didn't Odaton say Orchids and/or Morningrise was rare/hard to find? Because Hastings has like 10 copies of each.
