Only A Thought You, in the shade Are you thinking of what was today? You, by yourself Looking for answers in something else You, all alone You remove yourself with only a thought You, right here and now You'd stay where you were if you could figure out how You go chasing after dreams That don't mean a thing You don't want to stay but you have no other way You're stuck inside your mind Outside of space and time To meet your past today You, what you have realized? That what was gone is not forgotten but no longer alive? You, I don't know much about You're like a puzzle with a piece missin' I gotta figure out You, will it always be this way? You always say the tide'll turn but it's never today Me, I think you'd better come to your sense You better find today before the past swallows it And you're chasing after dreams They don't mean a thing You don't want to stay but you have no other way You're stuck inside your mind Outside of space and time To meet your past today
I'm guessing this is about a big daydreamer who's contemplating a next move or a something not perfect. If thus so, great The 'chorus' within is fairly catchy. Well written.
Thank you for your kind words Yeah, it's about a daydreamer who's always thinking of his past and what he could have done different, and so on and so forth.
