I was watching the video below and wondered what you guys thought about online scams, if it's happened to anyone you know and what kind of person falls for this stuff. I saw a Chris Hansen special about the same thing too some time ago and intrigues me that people can fall for these things. I didn't know whether to post this in random or serious, but thought I'd go with here to get some discussion going, haha.
That dude is hot, why wouldn't he believe that babe is in love with him? And how big of a dump did he take on his dead wife's image when he claims he was already in love with someone else and he spent all this money on her just to try and meet her for the first time? $300k? Come on, dude. I doubt he spent that much doting his wife of 34 years.
"Do you realise, now, this was a scam?" -- stupid question. <.< 20/20 hindsight is clearer than 20/20 foresight but, yeah, that is plain stupidity. ;" I've seen lots of stories like this; old men being drawn in my photos of young women claiming to be in love with them.
Everyone should watch the 2010 documentary Catfish. You'll get some idea of how much people can fake over the internet.
