Hopefully they play the entire album since they're already performed over half of it. Though I think it'll be weird to play Good Goodbye without Pusha T and Stormyz
I'm not expecting much, seeing as they only played two new songs during their last release show. I'd be surprised if we don't hear at least three songs, and given that they've actually been performing more of the songs this time around I'd love if they played more, but I'm not holding my breath that they'll play much more, let alone the full album. I'd love to be wrong though, if you're going to an "album release show" you really should expect it to be focused around the new album.
They actually played 3: Wastelands, Until It's Gone, Guilty All The Same. I was there and it was awesome, short because it was a TV taping, and also free. I thought it was great. http://lplive.net/shows/db/2014/20140618 Also when they did a release show for A Thousand Suns they played 8 songs off the album http://lplive.net/shows/db/2010/20100914 edit: Well just got my tickets, stoked as fuck.
Good to hear, although 8 songs from ATS is a bit generous when four are interludes haha. Even still I hope they play a good few new songs. Hope you enjoy it!
I think Heavy, Battle Symphony, and One More Light are certainly gonna be played. Invisible and Talking to Myself are also a possibility,
I can understand that you dont consider JDM as a interlude. But The Requiem is very obvious an interlude
They seem to be significantly prouder of this new material than they were of either Living Things or Hunting Party. I'd say they'd at least play most of the songs. I'd be really surprised if they didn't.
For those about to jump into this thread and think Jesse is being ridiculous, for once he's not. LP have so far played the following live: Heavy (featuring Kiiara and without her on several occasions) Battle Symphony Invisible (played at the Late Late Show, though explicitly not recorded) Talking To Myself (played at the Warner Bros. office, a clip is on the interwebs and in a previous news post) One More Light (see Talking To Myself) There are 10 tracks, five of which they have played live so far. He is mathematically correct.
I'd still personally consider them interludes, but that doesn't mean I don't love them! Meteorain and I had a back and forth about this a while ago; JDM is actually in my top 10 LP tracks. Man I hope you're right, but I guess I'm just hesitant with how slow they were to play new songs for the last two. But yeah, they do seem more enthusiastic about the songs this time around and they have been playing more (even if we've only heard two ourselves). Well, technically he said over half...
I'll be happy to hear what live stuff will be on their upcoming tour. If they come up with a new medley or something. For some reason, I'm expecting a new medley like the ballad medley, but for heavy songs, like a Points of Authority/Hit the floor/Wastelands medley or something lol.
Mike said during his most recent Instagram live that he'll do this with his original second verse for this song. Back in 2004 they've perfromed Hip-Hop medley, if you remember. Step Up/Nobody's Listening/It's Going Down. It's something like the thing you're expecting. Heavier medley, in my thoughts, would include the likes of Given Up, War, QWERTY and Victimized
To be fair the song was for iHeartRadio, so they needed as much mainstream/poppy/popular songs off their discography with a few exceptions (Faint, Wastelands) so naturally GATS was left off until they filmed the 3 THP songs for Kimmel. They even added ALTNC. The other release shows from rock radio stations had much heavier sets.
I'm optimistic that the band will deliver with a "One More Light"-centric setlist for this release show, if not for other shows throughout the tour cycle. I'm gonna be pretty concerned if they only play a couple of songs off the new album, doesn't bode well for when they might come and play here
Mike mentioned that before Stormzy recorded his verse that Mike himself had a second verse written and recorded. He said when they play Good Goodbye live, that he may rap that verse instead of doing Stormzy's part.
