    S3, S5 spoilers ahead.

Remember the Brotherhood without banners? They had this guy. Killed by Sandor Clegane, resurrected by -insert name- "5 or 6 times". He was resurrected into The Lord of Light's name. We know Melisandre is in Castle Black, and she arrived just before Jon's death. She could bring him back. I realize the chances of this happening are minimal, but it gives me hope. I'm losing interest in this show due to the fact I'm losing all characters I enjoyed. I hope Jon's not done yet.

    -

EDIT: @Robert - what would be the point of the jump if the best thing that could happen was them breaking their legs? They probably jumped hoping the snow was deep enough for them to survive their fall without major injuries that would make their escape impossible. Still, even if they did survive, and continue, they're gonna get caught and dragged back to Winterfell. As Myranda said, Ramsay needs Sansa. For a few more years at least. But he sure as hell doesn't need Reek. On the other hand, he's sick enough to keep him alive and torture him for personal amusement. But not without "taking a part of him" again. My bet would be the legs he wanted to run with, but then he couldn't be Ramsay's "squire" for the lack of a better word.

EDIT 2: Am a better writer than George R. R. Martin, confirmed. Am blown away by my own continuation of the Sansa/Reek story.

    I LIKE USING SPOILER TAGS

    Pretty sure Jon's done, mate.

Though the theory you're proposing is not impossible.

    SPOILERS

One of the things Sansa said before she jumped was along the lines of "I would rather die while I still have part of me left" so that's making me think she's dead but... The way the show just cut off her story with no emphasis makes me feel she might be okay. Same thing with Stannis. They cut off both scenes in ways that only left uncertainty in a dull way

I was hoping Jon's eyes were going to turn blue. Still wouldn't mind. But the red queen resurrecting him sounds probable but also like fans are pulling straws from everywhere hoping that he's just not dead

Hey Dicklicking Twat, we're going to be putting up spoiler tags in this thread just in case. I know it's been spoken before about the don't enter rule, but because spoiler tags have already been used so much here and because GoT is such a "controversial" spoiler show, we'll play it safe.

Plus book spoilers and fan theories have been placed in the past.
Yes I know show/books are all caught up now

    Not by choice.

I did now. I don't know, we'll just see what happens.

So apparently in the books Jon 's last thought after being stabbed was ghost. I mean I'm all for the revival by magic but it sounds like he may just warg first and then be revived. Like he'll be in Ghost all season 6 and at the end be revived like Dany's end of the season 1 thriller

The next book is supposed to come out before Season 6, right? Heard Martin is working his ass off to make that happen.

It's not so apparent in the show, but Jon staying dead would be really bizarre and wouldn't make a lot of sense. If you pay close enough attention, there are very few major events that aren't heavily foreshadowed, and there's a lot of backstory and setup that would be rendered utterly pointless if Jon is dead for good. This goes beyond people simply grasping at straws looking for reasons for their favorite characters to come back.

^I don't think I agree. Valar Morghulis is the point of the whole series.

Anyway, I've just thought of Bran. We did not see him in Season 5. There's another plotline for Season 6 ( which it desperately needs now that all this has happened.).

Eh, there's a pretty well-reasoned progression in the series, to the point where GRRM has said that people have already figured out the ending. It's not quite the free-for-all that people make it out to be.

Hah. One thing we've got to keep in mind's that there are still two more books in the series. Regardless of whether or not The Winds of Winter comes out before or after season six, the showrunners have stated that the show's only going to last through season seven, and so the show's going to be over before the last book (A Dream of Spring) comes out (obviously). Therefore, Martin's still go plenty of time to make the ending of his books different from the ending of the TV series, if he wanted to. And given the way things have played out so far, would that really be all that surprising?

Anyway, I'm going to post a big ol' block o' text, and it's all going to be spoilered; if you haven't read the books, don't read my spoilers.

Re: Jon — I don't like how they handled his betrayal on the show. In the books, Jon receives a threat from Ramsay stating that he's defeated Stannis and taken Mance prisoner, and that unless he (Ramsay) receives hostages, he'll march on the Wall and kill Jon. Jon decides he's going to ride out and kill Ramsay himself, but the brothers of the Night's Watch ambush him and kill him before he can break his Oath, although none of them want to do it (even Ser Alliser has tears in his eyes). Now, obviously, this couldn't have worked out quite so well in the show, since Mance was burned early on; but a similar thing could've happened in the show, with Ramsay taunting Jon with a letter stating how he's got Sansa and whatnot. Jon could've decided to rescue his sister and marched on Winterfell himself, and that could've set up his betrayal. Alas, none of that can be changed now. Oh, well.

Anyway, I read an article/interview in which Kit Harrington says he was told Jon Snow's dead permanently, and one of the showrunners (I get their names mixed up) stated that "dead is dead." This could be a simple PR stunt, so as to not give away the plot of season six, of course, since many fans, myself included, still think that Jon Snow's alive, or will be resurrected. Melisandre returning to the Wall sort of confirms this for me. I've explained it several times in a couple of other posts in this thread, but I'll explain what I think's going to happen in season six. I think Melisandre will convince Ser Davos to insist that, although he may have been an Oathbreaker, Jon should still be burned as Maester Aemon was, and he'll convince the Night's Watch to do so, although Melisandre will have the ulterior motive of resurrecting Jon Snow as Azor Ahai. I think he'll be burned holding Longclaw, and he'll rise from the flames holding a sword that actually burns – Lightbringer. That would be the coolest thing ever. But how they're going to hide the fact that Kit Harrington would be back for season six for all of this is a mystery.

Then, of course, there's the situation in the books, in which Selyse and Shireen are still at the Wall with Melisandre, leading many to believe that Melisandre will convince Selyse that Shireen must be sacrificed to bring Jon Snow back from the dead, and that's when Jon will be resurrected as Azor Ahai in the books, leaving Stannis to his own fate, since it'd be pretty obvious that he wasn't Azor Ahai.

Re: Stannis — As I stated above, in the books, Jon receives a letter from Ramsay taunting him that he's captured Mance and defeated Stannis; whether or not Stannis is dead isn't known, since his final march on Winterfell hasn't occurred yet. But I can see things playing out in the books exactly as they played out on the show, although I don't see Brienne being the one to kill Stannis; I think it'll be Ramsay himself, personally. Brienne won't be in the North when Stannis finally reaches Winterfell.

That said, his death was kind of shocking, more so than any of the others I've seen so far. I didn't expect him to die this season; next season, sure, maybe, but not this season.

Re: Danaerys — Her storyline's finally caught up with its book counterpart, so I've got no idea what the fuck's going to happen now. It's likely that it's Khal Jhaqo's khalasar that has found Dany, and they're no friends of hers. It'll be interesting to see how the whole rescue plot plays out with Ser Jorah and Daario. And it'll be super interesting to see how Tyrion, Varys, Missandei, and Grey Worm run Mereen.

Re: Arya — I've got no idea how she went blind, since in the books she drinks a potion that causes it. That's all I got here.

Re: Cleganebowl — So, the huge guy's obviously The Mountain brought back to life by Qyburn. I hate how they made his eyes visible; in the books, his head's been sent to Dorne as a way of saying "hey, Oberyn killed The Mountain, here's your absolution" and so that's why Ser Robert Strong has taken a vow of silence (because he has no head) and wears a helmet that covers his entire head (because he doesn't have one). Anyway, I'm interested to see if they'll mention the fate of The Hound during season six, since it's very obvious that he's still alive in the books (well, it's debated, but I don't see why there's a debate) and his death isn't ever shown on the show. It's possible he survived. The prevailing theory's that, eventually, The Mountain and The Hound will face off against each other (for whatever reason) and it's been dubbed Cleganebowl by the fans. I think it'd be awesome to see that on the show.

That's all I got. I'm gonna watch the episode again here in a bit, and I might have more to say.

    edit —

I almost forgot about this one. Book spoilers again.

Re: Sansa — She and Theon aren't dead. They jumped into a giant snow drift to escape Winterfell and Ramsay.

Re: Dorne — This one pissed me off. I fucking hate the Sand Snakes. I'm not even going to elaborate. I fucking hate them all. I hope Doran has them all executed when he inevitably finds out what they've done.

I don't doubt that there will be some changes in how Martin gets from point A to point B, but I feel pretty confident that the endpoints will be much the same. He seems so meticulous that taking a sharp turn could be a hell of an undertaking. I suppose no one really knows but him. That's my hunch, though

Oh, and I'm totally with you on the Jon and Arya endings. Jon's death felt more earned in the books, and Arya's blindness was more sensible.

I don't think he's going to change the ending of the series to make it different from the show. I was just positing that he could if he'd wanted to. It's definitely a possibility. Then again I've also always been under the belief that he lied to the showrunners and said "this is how it ends" when it really ends a different way, and that the books and the show are going to have different endings. I think that'd be really cool, honestly. It'd allow the show-watchers to have an ending that makes sense in the context of the show, and it'd allow the book-readers to have an ending that makes sense given the fact that there's so much more going on in the books and that doesn't pander to the show. It's a long-shot, but like I said, I think that'd be cool as hell.

    Damn. Spoilers below.

Jon can't be dead. I refuse to believe it. I'm 100% in denial. I KNEW that would be the scene to end the season and it was exactly as I imagined it. It was a heart wrenching betrayal, I thought, especially by luring out Jon using Benjen Stark. That was really cruel. I think they adapted that scene well for the show though. I can't help wondering where the fuck Ghost was in all this.

I think if Jon is dead he will be be resurrected somehow by Melisandre. As mentioned by a few people above, I don't think it's a coincidence Melisandre is back at Castle Black. We all know she sees something special in Jon as this has been hinted at in the show and also heavily hinted at in the books. The Jon warging into Ghost theory is also pretty interesting so maybe it will go down that route or maybe a mixture of Melisandre/Ghost revival. He can't die. The emphasis on Longclaw (could this be Lightbringer?) and also the hints (and theories) about Jon's parentage has been built up too much for him to just be killed off.

Will, I agree with you about the Sand Snakes. They were so disappointing and the entire Dorne storyline was the worst thing about this season. I could have easily done without that entire story.

I loved the Arya & Meryn Trant scene! So brutal. So awesome.

So Jon, Stannis, Theon, Sansa, Myrcella & Dany's fates are unknown.

This is gonna be a long wait

I saw someone point this out on another forum (spoilers):

With Stannis's death, House Baratheon is extinct. Tommen is a Baratheon in name only, since we all know he's a Lannister bastard. R.I.P. House Baratheon.

(Yes, some of King Robert's bastards still live, but they're not Baratheons, they're Storms or Riverses or Waterses or whatever. The point is, they're not legitimized, and it's horribly unlikely they ever will be.)

    edit —

I saw a post on the Westeros forums and it made me laugh so goddamn hard:

"Elsewhere, Dany has to deal with a sleepy Drogon until she's surrounded by a khalasar riding all of the horses stolen from Stannis' camp. Don't worry though, because she totally left a ring clue for them. This was completely better than them finding her eating meat in the shadow of her dragon like a badass."

I couldn't stop laughing. I'm laughing again. Holy lol.
